Still got stitches a year after circumcision

So I had a circumcision a year ago in April and I still have stitches. I’ve just managed to take 2 out today myself.

They were kinda scabbed black dots and I never really wanted to mess with them and as they haven’t hindered me in anyway so I just kinda left them all this time.

But I looked today and had to try and get one out, as I thought if it was a normal scab it would have gone by now. But I still wasn’t sure if they were stitches or not. But I managed to get 2 out and they were in fact stitches.

But I still have some more that are like underneath the skin, which I don’t know if I’ll be able to take out.

Has anyone else had an issue like this, with stitches still in after a good amount of time post op ?
