Six Weeks Post Traditional Circumcision - Tightness around Scar area and Chronic Inflammation.

Hi - I completed my 6 weeks yesterday and today met a senior doctor since my doc kept saying that healing is good etc etc.. so decided to take a second opinion since i did not see any improvement in the scar area and there was little tenderness at a point too.

The surgeon i met is an experienced one in the same hospital, after examination he did confirm that the procedure did not go the way it was supposed to. Some skin was left on the left side and there is also chronic inflammation which could be due to sutures which did not dissolve on time. My sutures were cut 10 days back and there could be scarring due to late removal of sutures.

Now the current situation is that the scar is tight, thick and lacks elasticity. I am not able to retarct beyond say 30 to 40 % of glan area, with coconut oil and gentry trying for 10 to 15 mins i am able to retract 95 % of glan area. Erection is also painful due to stretching of skin and also due to smegma deposit .

I am told that another procedure might be required after 6 weeks. I am dejected and do not wanna go through the pain again.

Has anyone gone through similar situation, chronic inflammation and tight scare line ?

I have been using coconut oil which helps a bit but does the scar area becomes better ?

Hi there, it sounds like you're doing all the right things by consulting with doctors. I guess my only question is that it sounds like you still have a foreskin? Having just had a circumcision over 8 months ago, I don't have a foreskin at all now. Hope you're okay, time is the best healer.

I still have foreskin- my main issues was a short frenulum so just partial circumcision was done. In flaccid 95 % is covered by foreskin, on erection its 80 % covered. Main problem is the the tight ring at the scar site which makes retraction difficult and painful. Inflammation is also there and so don't know what to do. Even if the scar site softens up and inflammation is settled, i think i can manage else i will have to go through the pain again.
