I’ve tried about every product/oil there is. Coconut, bio oil, pure emu oil, an expensive blend of scar healing oils packaged at health food store, Maderma, silicone scar gels etc.
I have to say the emu oil was my favorite to use early on in the recovery. It actually absorbed easily into the skin and was less messy, didn’t stain underwear or soak through into my pants. My doctor suggested that one as there are a lot of reputed anti-inflammatory properties- HOWEVER, he did say it truly doesn’t matter what you use. Keeping it moist with cheap Vaseline would work. Moisture and gentle handling/stretching (this includes masturbation when you are ready) and time are key to helping with the scarline tightness. Eventually it regains it’s elasticity. I’m almost 8 weeks post op and mine is coming along. I still massage the scarline in circular motion with my finger several times a day. Masturbation still causes some puffiness afterward.
From week 5 until now I stopped using Emu oil and began slathering Maderma Intensive overnight cream on the scarline a a few times a day. It is really helping to fade the purple color of scar.
Yes, I see that. I’m sorry, it’s looks very red tight and aggravated. Did you ask for a particular style or have any indication of what your were getting or did the doctor just do what he wanted?
Coconut oil is good, but keep in mind this can tighten skin. Using regular lubricant is fine.
Best for scars is bio oil , or coconut oil keep in mind they work 100% but it's a slow process .
Healing of scars depends also on many factors , diet , washing habits .
Some people just use the wrong way to apply it which is rubbing it in circular motion very good for the oil to enter the skin properly , don't just dab it on it .
