Loss of glans sensation after circumcision. Would this help?

I was circumcised at age 10 due to a tight foreskin that was difficult to retract. Looking back, it's frustrating that my doctor didn't encourage me or my parents to explore other options for me first. I didn't know there were stretching methods and steroid creams I could try, but oh well, hindsight is 20/20 and all that..

The procedure went ok. I don't remember much about the healing process. I guess I've blocked part of it out. But nothing was really unusual that I remember. The time in between is kind of a blur. Because of my age, I didn't think much about it and then by the time I started puberty, I was already used to being circumcised.

Sometime in my late teens/early 20s I did start to notice things felt "off" in the sense that I never really felt much on my glans. It's not numb or anything, I can feel when it's being touched. But it doesn't have much sensation. For sex or masturbation, it takes a lot of lube and a lot of friction, otherwise I can't get to the finish line. It's really frustrating and there have been times partners thought I wasn't aroused when I was. It takes a really long time to get there. Sometimes I just give up.

I hate feeling this way. I'm turning 30 soon and am very healthy and active. My doctor says I'm fine. But I've been researching this and it seems other guys have reported this too. I guess because my glans is constantly rubbing against my underwear and clothes, it's lost sensation. If I had a foreskin, I'm assuming it would be protected.

So I came across this product called a Manhood - manhoodcanada.com. It's supposed to be a fabric "foreskin substitute" that restores sensation to the glans. I don't know if it would work. I feel dumb even asking about this. But I'm desperate to make some changes. I hate it that my whole adult life I've never felt like I knew what good sex feels like. I see a lot of guys post about circumcision on here so I'm hoping someone can help.

Thanks.

Hey buddy please don't regret the past, in fact I did it at the age of 45 and regret not having doen it earlier ..I am Glad I got rid of phimosis and balanitis

Yes foreskin substitution may help but research on it, for me it's been abt 8 weeks what I do now is massage glands with little bio oil and argan oil sometimes virgin coconut oil whenever I can in morning and night (massage and not masturbate okay) though eventually if u end up masturbating its okay .do this regularly and I believe you will start feeling better and trust me 70 percent of it is in our mind , as you know when w get aroused blood flows to our penis and w get the erection .Think positive stay confident you will be absolutely fine every problem has a solution .okay buddy

Im 57, circumcised when I was about 16, and over the last few years, Ive had the same thoughts as you mention. Ive tried plenty of stuff, all of it fairly useless. Its important to remember that when the operation was done, lots and lots of nerves were likely severed, now thats going to vary between one operation and the next ( in terms of how many nerves), so feeling remaining is going to vary also. These nerves, they are never going to rejoin...never. Potions make make your skin softer, covers will help a bit (but they are really annoying when you need to pee, and they fall off all the time), foreskin stretching is tiresome, and painful....

So whatever you do, its going to be fairly useless I think, the skin will harden, the nerves are gone...thats chapter one.

Reading on in this book of life, I guess Im around 60+% done, and my sex life has, for the very most part been amazing. Ive fathered 3 children, Ive satisfied every lady Ive had the pleasure and privilege of being with, what gives me the very most pleasure is giving her pleasure, and that as Gsanata mentioned is all in the mind, via the eyes and ears (oh and taste of course!)

My point is, be a great lover, think of her (or sorry him, Im not very PC) and thats going to be GREAT sex, not just good sex.

Sorry to hear you had such a totally incompetent Doctor, only suggesting foreskin removal, and you are now suffering completely needlessly as a result - inexcusable he didn't even suggest trying stretching! Anyway, if you search Foreskin restoration on the web, you will come up with many many different options which may help you recover your foreskin, and hopefully all the sensations you have never been able to enjoy.

Foreskin restoration takes dedication and a year or two, so it's not for everyone, but some people are very happy with the results.

It's totally normal not to be able to retract at age ten by the way, so there was never a problem in the first place.

Spot on, I actually meant to say that as well. If you still have a problem by 18 or 20, when your body has completely finished growing/reached maturity in all areas, that is the time you might then consider stretching etc, etc.
