circumcision

hi, I’m 44 years old and have always had phimosis which I realized a few years ago. Initially i was avoiding circumcision but I am finally getting it done in a couple of days. Just wanted to ask

-will circumcision affect sex. I mean will it improve or reduce the quality of sex?

-is there any other I should keep in mind or be worried about?

Hey!

I had it done at 37 after battling phimosis since I started being sexually active. Sex was always painful - Even to the point where I stopped connecting with my opposite sex due to self consciousness and pain with sex. Sex was possible but painful and foreskin ripping constantly to the point where scar tissue kept forming - no amount of steroid cream helped to extend my foreskin - even with regular extension exercises.

The surgery was painful but not as painful as years of sexual issues - after the surgery pain was only for about 2-3 weeks daily mostly when walking - pain meds helped.

After 1 year my penis was perfect and I felt as if I could be in a porn movie - I was very happy.

I am 43 now and if you asked me what my 3 regrets in life were -- my top one would be not having a circumcision at 18 - it's well worth it.

get it done.

PM me if you have questions.

Done five months ago as an older adult

Best decision I have ever made just don’t know why I waited

I have not had the level or pain or discomfort many on here complain about

The worst part was taking the bandage off 48 hours after surgery ,

I had it done at 2.00 pm that same day i had my normal night at the pub No problems

You will ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner. Best thing I have ever done. It enhances sex for me women really appreciate it and it looks neat and masculine

Hi. I agree with the comments. I had phimosis which got worse and was tight even when soft. I had circ 6 weeks ago. O pain at all during operation under local. Sore after for 2 weeks but keep it in tight pants so it can't move. Now nearly fully healed apart from some sensitivity around the head. Kept it clean and infection free by washing with salt water solution daily. Just started to masturbate again. All seems to work and good sensations!

hey, I had similar concerns but have to admit it’s made sex more pleasurable, I have no regrets at all.

One more thing - how long after the surgery can you get back to regular office work?

next day - or 2 .

just keep it clean and use gauze pads - all gauze pads are non-sticky - i had mine wrapped around and changed twice daily .

nighttime bleeding will happen especially with morning wood - .

thanks!

I’ve read a few times that peeing can be an issue initially because you can’t control it and may spray around. Is it?

Just sit down to piss until the swelling reduces and you can piss again in a compact jet.

If you have itching that does not resolve itself, you need to see your GP or get yourself to a Sexual Health Clinic.

If your phimosis is preventing you from fully retracting while having sex or masturbating, then yes, circumcision will probably help. Personally, circumcision would be a last resort for me though - I'd try stretching and steroid creams first, then if those didn't work, I'd ask about preputioplasty.

There are plenty of men who are very glad they got circumcised as adults and wish they'd done it sooner (some of them commenting here), but be aware that there are also lots of men who regret getting circumcised. Even some of the ones who had no choice report loss of sensitivity after the operation.

I decided to have a circumcision as an adult 2 years ago. Never liked how my skin looked and felt, I was also nervous, as anyone would be.I have a low and tight cut, about 12mm of inner skin left. It's the best thing ever, you will ask yourself why you never had it done years ago.

Yes it's swollen at first and your pee shoots all over the place, but you cope and its easy enough to deal with.

Once you return to sexual activity you will see how much better it is

you will be premature ejaculation now, because your glans have been covered for 44 years.. after about 2 years, your glans will kernalize and then will be like before (feel less though)
