Circumcision at 23

Hi guys, I am Jake, For my past years I was suffering from paraphimosis but I can masturbate without any concerns. The issue becomes worse when I can't pullback my foreskin and set it back to original position. I met my general practitioner and he suggested laser circumcision and notified that it would heal within 2 weeks. So I undergone circumcision on Monday 22/7/24 and now I am in recovery phase. I have some queries regarding this healing process and I hope there will be someone who experience the same and clear my doubts.

1. How long the sutures remains? It is still painful.

2.I cant urinate as smooth and straight as before it shattered over down. Does it fix over the period of time?

3.Sensitivity of my penis glans is pain as hell

I cant bear with this it is more uncomfortable when made friction with clothes.How long does it takes to fix it as normal skin?

4. How is the masturbation before and after circumcision? Does it painful to masturbate after circumcision?

5. How is the sex life after circumcision?

6. Lastly, does circumcision cause reduced size of penis? Since my circumcision it looks smaller than before .

Wound healing take 4-6 weeks approx.

Due to swelling, your urine might not go in straight line. It gets better with time.

Try to pee while sitting.

For sensitivity, refer to my post. It may take few weeks to months to get bearable.

Wear tight underwear to avoid friction.

Do not masturbate till 6 weeks, use lube after that. It will feel weird first then it gets enjoyable when you get used to it.

Circumcision has no effect on size, you are still healing, give it time and take proper rest.

Avoid gym/exercise for a month.

Complete Recovery ranges from 6 week to 12 months.

No experience of laser circumcision but healing will take at least six weeks, maybe longer for full healing, but it will happen. Again at least six weeks before any sexual activity, use plenty of lube and take it slowly.Peeing in a straight line, will hopefully come back, but I am still not totally able to pee where I want !

As for size I think I look a bit bigger but size is in the eyes of the beholder.

Hey Jake. Nothing you describe is abnormal. Recovery is quite a long process. Swelling probably affecting your peeing accuracy. Stitches should dissolve in about 4-6 weeks. Your head will be sensitive for 2-3 months - as will the area around the cut line. The best thing I did was bathing it in salt water. Bandage and wear tight pants to stop movement and rubbing. Use Vaseline on the glans. As for masturbation it's better, so is sex. All once fully healed. Do you still have your frenulum? I do and it feels so good stimulating that! Lastly, size. Don't panic buddy - circumcision does not alter the physical length ;). Take care. Message if you need any more advice support. Stu.

And one thing I want to get clear that yellowish discharge (pus like) substance in my wound which is hard to get rid even bathing. What about that stuff does it may occurs due to infection or is it normal? Give any tips about get rid of them.

Again. That's part of the healing and is caused by 'stitch reactions' (your body trying to protect against what are foreign objects). Keep up the bathing with salt water. 2 tablespoons of salt in a glass of boiled, cooled water. (Pint glass, if you're a big boy ;)) dip your penis in it and slosh it about for a few minutes. Let it air dry, don't rub. Salt prevents infection and promotes healing. 👍🏻

Here's some answers to your questions:

1. How long the sutures remains? It is still painful.

My sutures lasted for about 4 weeks before the ends fell out. I had a couple randomly pop out my frenulum around the 6-week mark, but other than that they all fell out within the expected timeframe. They are painful while they're still sticking out, but that will pass as they break down and lose tensile strength.

2.I cant urinate as smooth and straight as before it shattered over down. Does it fix over the period of time?

It does. The swelling is blocking your urethra - mine went everywhere for a fair few weeks. It will resolve and settle back down and you'll be doing stand-up tinkles before you know it.

3.Sensitivity of my penis glans is pain as hell. I cant bear with this it is more uncomfortable when made friction with clothes.How long does it takes to fix it as normal skin?

It takes a while to desensitise, but will get better in time. By about 8 weeks I was back in underwear without bandages, it was still sensitive but got easier with each passing week. I'm 5 months healed now and it feels like it's always been without a foreskin.

4. How is the masturbation before and after circumcision? Does it painful to masturbate after circumcision?

Masturbation is better. Lots of lube! Use lots of water-based lube and go to town gently. It will be a bit sore afterwards for some time, but that too will ease up over time.

5. How is the sex life after circumcision?

WAAAAAY better. Sex without a foreskin (especially for someone like me who had phimosis and adhesions, it's better than ever. Just feel way more able to enjoy it without worrying.

6. Lastly, does circumcision cause reduced size of penis? Since my circumcision it looks smaller than before .

No, it shouldn't do. It will feel a bit weaker for a while, but you'll get your mojo back. The illusion is the lack of the top bit of your foreskin probably added a bit of length, but it's not your actual penis that's been chopped. Give it time and you'll come back strong. My bellend flared a bit too, so now it looks bigger. And if my wife's wide eyes are anything to go by, I've gained a bit of girth with it.

Time is the biggest healer! Trust me on that. Message if you need anything.

Hey friend, I have a query that my circumcised wound mainly on sutured area filled with yellowish fluid which literally looks like a pus but I can't get rid of this secretion while bathing itself and it smells bad and sounds cautious does it normal ? Is there any tips to clean it without re injuring the wound?

Hey buddy. While yellowish fluid is often normal - I myself experienced yellow scabs on my wound line, for example - anything thicker and smelly should be checked by a doctor. I always recommend anyone go to the doctor with something they're not sure about. Can you make an appointment or drop into a hospital? Tom.

Hello friend, I have visited doctor and discuss this with him he provided me mupirocin 2% ointment to apply on wounded area. Does it seems to be good?

Yeah, that's an antibacterial cream to help you keep the wound clean while it heals, I would imagine. Keep me posted on how it works over the coming weeks.

you will be fine. Alll the above are normal. I had mine done aged 36. My worry was on the day of the op I had shrivelled up being nervous. I told the surgeon that erect I am 7.5 inches and do not take off too much. He took masses away I was so worried. But in time it all came back. Takes about six weeks. Keep it clean. Do not overstretch it yet. Patience is the key. It will be great
