Hey this is a last resort for me because my doctor is of no help or I’m not confident in his advice. I had circumcision surgery two months ago because of balinitis. It took a whole month for the wound to close. But then over the past month it just stopped, the pain sensitivity is going away however there's there tight scar ring at the incision. It’s more felt on the inside of the scar. When i have an erection it feels like a rubber band is around my penis. It burns after I masturbate both on the incision and inside my penis. I sent my doc a bunch of emails but ever since he prescribed the steroid cream I haven’t heard from him back. I really need some advice on this.
Update the cream is not working after 15 days of using it 2-3 times a day. It’s thinning out the skin near the incision. The incision not as tight during erection, but still tight, the scar ring is still there, especially on the inside of the incision.
I stopped using the cream two days ago because it burns my skin and it seem like it was causing the pain after orgasm because I haven’t felt the pain as intense after masturbating. I told the doctor I’m thinking about taking out a malpractice suit on him because I’m sure he used the incorrect size shang ring for the surgery because in almost everything post ring removal pictures on the Internet I’ve seen, none of the incisions were as deep as mine, and i was in pain from the moment it was placed on me to the moment it was taken off revealing a deep hallowed out incision circle abd i feel like this has contributed to this scar. He’s also saying the underside is swelling but I don’t believe so because when the penis is flaccid it looks like just extra skin, when it gets erect it puffs up like the way it is in the attached picture. The doctor slso emailed me back threatening me he would counter sue me for defamation. He’s been very neglectful during the first month saying he was out the country but no urologist in my area had any knowledge of the shang ring and they kept saying I should go to the surgeon who did it. I need any advice anyone can give. This procedure has ruined my life and finances

Hey man sorry for all you have been through. If you seriously are going to sue your doc it’s best not to tell him and go see a lawyer. Threatening isn’t going to help him treat you. Your circ looks very tight and the top layer of skin looks to be gone so you essentially have an under layer of skin that is now exposed to the world. The good thing is that this will keep improving over time as it heals up - it is just going to take a while longer. Have you seen a plastic surgeon or another urologist? Just out of curiosity why did you decide on a shank ring?
Hey man thanks for the reply. I threatened to sue Because he constantly ignored my emails and sent me a bunch of prescriptions which does nothing to help over the past two months since the surgery. I understand why he prescribed the antibiotics and Baclofen to prevent erections in the first few weeks but after that he just kept prescribing meds based on pics I sent him. The meds costed alot, especially the cream which doesn’t do anything but give side effects like retrograde ejaculation, and the ones that cause insomnia and headaches, as well as the fact that my life was on hold for two months when in fact he told me before the surgery that healing was gonna take three weeks. I wouldn’t have done the surgery if he had been honest about healing time. About the shang ring i did not choose it nor knew what it was. After the operation he said I’d have to remove the shang ring within 10 days I thought it was a just a gauze because it looked like it, with the tape around it, until I realized there was a whole device on my penis. When I was researching before the surgery I saw nothing like that, in my head I thought he would’ve cut away the skin, stitch it and gauze it. If I knew it was gonna be that device I would’ve straight up said no. In fact before the surgery I had decided to leave because it was getting late approaching 9:PM and the doc insisted I wait to do the surgery because he was hungry for my money. I even told him the thing felt really tight after i got off the operating table and he only offered to give me more anesthesia which I declined. I might set up an appointment to go see him tomorrow. But I heard with some scar tissue i might have to do surgery to correct it, do you think it will look normal in time for real? And do you have any idea how long it usually takes? I haven’t had sex in over two months. And i was seeing someone, we broke up because There was no sex and I never even told her I did the surgery because i was embarrassed of balintis and wasn’t sure how she’d receive this. I did the surgery thinking I’d be back to normal within a month like I saw with other men who did it but this surgery turned my life upside down and tbh I’d rather balititis over this
Bro that’s terrible. Where are you because I haven’t heard of anyone using a Shang ring except in Asia and Africa. It does sound like he used a ring too small. I would suggest You go back to see him but don’t say anything about suing him again. This clearly got his attention but at the end of the day you want to get better and not fight a court battle. I do think things will improve over time but it’s going to take a while. The body will heal itself but it’s been through a lot. Fee free to pm me if you want to chat more. I’m sorry for all you are going through
Yea man thank you. I’m just worried losing my mind over the fact that I invested so much money into this. To date I’m on 4k and counting. The surgery was 3k the rest is medications and visits to the ER and urologists during the first month. I wouldn’t mind the loss of money so much, not as much as I’m freaking out about having my penis stuck looking like this. It looks and feels unappealing. I hope you are right about it gradually loosening up. The doc emailed me saying I should send him pictures and that I should go to a dermatologist to get silicone injections to loosen the scar, again digging deeper in my pockets because of this. I don’t trust him and his advice because I looked him up and I did not see his name on the board of certified urologists in California. But I haven’t mentioned that to him because being that he prescribed my meds he may be legit. But do you think not seeing his name on the list is a cause for concern? What do you think about the silicone injection for the scar? Also I wouldn’t encourage anyone to use a shang ring, there’s barely any literature on it and it is torture. I live in LA California btw, but the doc is hebrew he looks and sounds like he’s from the middle east.
Hey I sent you his name. I said he was licensed in California I checked and I didn’t see anything. Maybe I checked the wrong list or he isn’t there yet but apparently he’s been doing business since 2012 in Beverly hills at the cedars sinai urology center from his own private office.
Situation will get better. Very often after such procedure people experience swelling - this is very common. And swelling takes time to go down between 1-9 months. Many people recover quickly but I have seen some (adults and children) who take months before things turn absolutely normal.
The burning you are feeling is because the skin is slightly adhered to the inside tissues. Hence during masturbation and orgasms there is some movement of the tissues that are connected to the scar and that may be causing the discomfort.
This is not uncommon and will get better.
Also remember that post circumcision one has to reinvent how to masturbate - because of the lack of the lose foreskin.
Avoid applying steroid creams as they thin out the skin - but in your case could be causing the scar to get exposed. A lot of people swear by soaking in warm salt baths (epsom?). You should consider that.
About the scar there’s no swelling, I’m concerned about the thick leathery scar, there’s no swelling when it’s flaccid only under the the shaft at the scar line when it’s erect it bulges towards line as if the scar line is blocking it from flowing. You said to avoid the cream, yes you are right it was thinning the skin near the incision, and also caused slight burning, so I had discontinued using it. When I told the doc the cream isn’t working to loosen the scar he said to use double dose. I haven’t especially since I’m not seeing much improvements. The part where the frenulum was removed is also leather hard like the scar ring, do you think this leather texture will go away eventually and soften on its own?
Hi that is a very unfortunate situation anything new on getting it worked out? I’m afraid I might have the exact same problem aesthetically. I had the Shang ring operation I personally have no pain or sensitivity after 8 weeks but when erect mine looks just like yours almost as if it was cut too deep. Although it’s only 8 weeks healed I’m afraid aesthetically I’m stuck with the indented scar. Hope your situation gets better man!
