UPDATE - SURGERY of my lump/bump in my penis shaft

Hi there, i underwent a minor surgery / excision of the sebaceous cyst in my penis shaft. It’s now removed. The urologist made 2 stitches on the skin. Now it looks inflamed, swollen and bumpy. I am worried again that it might not flatten when it dries up or heal. Any idea how long is the healing process? will it flatten and goes back to normal skin? I know it will scar but i want it to flattened and even with skin. The urologist said that just leave it alone, i only put neosporin, can i also put some wound healing cream? Thanks guys

You never mentioned when the operation was done. The swelling is normal after op. It will flatten. If it's underside your shaft, you may put a band-aid on it for to support and cover the recent wound .

Hi, it was done last Monday 16 March. Okay, will put some band-aid. How about wound healing creams?

If you just take a shower twice a day it's enough. You bumpy wound is not an open wound anymore/yet. And you already use antibiotic ointment. I did use medical honey ointment, cause I don't want to use even topical antibiotics for nothing.

US is different world than Europe, cause the medical costs are unrealistic high and people just try to avoid every doctor visit if they can by using like antibiotic ointment without infection.

Just wonder where the antibiotic resistant bacterias come from. These topical ones aren't the worst, but still.

I dont know what i feel, first the lump stressed me out for a couple of weeks and now it’s gone (thanks to the urologist) the swelling and inflammation looks bumpy again, i just want to get assurance from testimonies, experiences that this will smoothen, flatten once it dries up and heal. I don’t worry about the scar but I don’t want it to be bumpy again once it’s healed.

As with any medical surgery, your body considers it an injury and reacts the same. Tissue swelling draws blood to the wound (incision, in this case) and takes time to heal. Be careful with the antibiotic ointment. A little goes a looooong way. You don't want to become resistant to the product.

I put bacitracin in a very small amount 2-3 times a day.

I just need assurance that this will smoothen or flatten... i have the cyst removed then in the end the scar will cause bump too. I don’t want that to happen 😭😭😭

I think you'll be fine. Just give it sometime. Keep in touch with the doctor is you have or experience long periods of pain or any discharge for the incision.

I only had pain and some blood after the surgery. The following day up until now (3rd day), no blood and pain no more. But its bumpy and hard. To be honest, i even m*st*bated today coz its been like a week. But i am very careful in stroking it. It still look fine and no pain.

Hey any update on this? I just got a cyst removed on the underside of my penis last week and am wondering the same thing. Did your wound smoothen and flatten out? And did it scar much? Please get back to me as soon as possI left. Thanks!

Hey guys, i read in one forum about putting ice... would that help? Im on my 5th day.

Is it also fine to masturbate, i have been doing that since 3rd day after the surgery. I don’t stroke it till the wound, just the head. But when it gets hard, does it affect the stitch? Thanks for all ur help...

You won’t achieve anything by applying ice, that’s just for bruising and sprain injuries
