Stitches after circumcision

I was told stitches would 'dissolve' by 10 days - I'm now coming up to 14 days and almost all are still there.

Would be interested in others experiences - how long did it take for your stitches to go?

Thanks

I'm Day 14... and some signs beginning to go. But my consultant told me would be 3-4 weeks when I saw him on Sunday.

Mine needed 3-4 weeks to dissolve.. Some I pulled because my wound was closed and stitch on that part was necessary. Don't pull them too hard or cut them with a knife or something, you can get injured.

The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor about that; he will know what to do, leave them or get them out.

A daily shower is essential, use soap or baby shampoo to wash that area and maybe it will soft stitches.

Thanks for this thread. Any update on when/if they started to fall out? I am now on day 14 and none of mine appear to have dissolved yet
