Had my surgery 11 days ago so obviously early days, but I noticed today that around the stitching underneath the glans - so frenulum area - the skin has swollen/ballooned out around the stitch/wound. I've not noticed this with any of the other stitches
Is that a normal part of the healing process?
The stitches haven't come out in that area yet. I am not in any significant pain there or elsewhere, just the occasional twinge
Thanks

I’m at 11 days too… and saw my consultant this morning for a check. My wound is all looking good but I have an area of ballooning on right side of the shaft. He tells me this is nothing to worry about and is fluid from the trauma of surgery and will settle down over about 3 months.
If in doubt - get your GP or consultant to have a quick look over it. I found it so reassuring to know all is OK!
The swelling has improved but not gone yet - seems to come and go some days - I have an OPD appointment in 10 days (6 weeks post op) so will ask then. I can't really tell if there are still any stitches there tbh. Its underneath btw not on right side - where frenulum was
I still have - it’s going down… but consultant has told me will take 3 months or so to go!! Am seeing him for a follow up in two weeks so will know more then
Thanks for everyone's replies. I had an appointment with the practice nurse today so asked her to take a look. Confirmed that the swelling is normal and there is no infection, but I need to be more thorough cleaning the wound!!
Good point - initially she said just wash normally using a hand held shower but I only have an overhead one. I mentioned I have been using wound cleaning wipes (just wipes with saline) and she said they would be ideal. amazon.co.uk/Reliance-Medic...
