I've recently noticed that my penis can be uncomfortable when erect. I'm uncircumcised, however I noticed a change in the skin on my penis.
There seems to be a narrow band when I retract my foreskin. This has not been the case until very recently. This seems to be stopping the foreskin pulling back naturally. I awoke with an erection this morning with mild discomfort. I wouldn't call it pain yet. This was the worst it has been though and it may become truly painful over time. When I manually retracted my foreskin there was a sense of relief.
I have also noticed that my foreskin is longer than I ever recall. So much, that I now have to consciously pull back my foreskin when i pee. Something that I've never really had to do as my foreskin didn't obstruct the urethra before.
I'm planning on speaking to my GP at my next appointment. I just wondered if the hive mind had experienced something similar as they got older.

This sounds same as me. Like you I had a tight band round my foreskin which made it difficult to retract easily when erect. It would be uncomfortable during sex or masturbation and sometimes the skin would tear. Also like you my foreskin seemed to be longer and I had to pull it back to pee, wash etc. Of course I left it quite a while before going to the doctor and developed skin bridges and phimosis which resulted in a circumcision as none of the creams had any effect. I would definitely mention it to your GP and hopefully can be resolved with cream if it's quite a recent issue. I'm 10 years older than you by the way and this didn't really become a problem till in my 60s.
Definitely. It's only been going on for a couple of weeks. The fact that it's new made me put it on my to do list. The discomfort this morning was worse than ever. Not crippling pain, just enough to make me ask the question here.
Your reply made me go and phone for an appointment.
Hello Biggie_McDick,I am a 60 year old male and I read your post with great interest. I have seen this type of problem before with a 66 year old friend who told me about this concern of the preputial ring shrinking and the foreskin lengthening with aging. So, you are not the only one to whom this happens, quite the contrary. I don't know what country you are from; for my part I am in France, where men are rarely circumcised with the exception of Muslims and Jews.
It sometimes happens in the 3rd that the foreskin changes in its appearance. More often, unlike your case, it tends to shorten in length and cover the glans less. But in other men, like you, it happens that with the sexual activities of life, especially if there have been a lot of masturbation games that have solicited the movements of the foreskin, this causes an elongation in front of the glans, creating an overhang, as it exists in the little boy, but more open.
In this 66-year-old friend, there was also an elongation of the foreskin on the one hand, and just like in you, the formation of a tightening ring which intensified as the weeks went by. This was also accompanied by a somewhat whiter appearance of the inner lining of the foreskin. After a visit to his GP, and blood tests, it appeared that this friend suffered from type 2 diabetes as well as Lichen Planus. These two diseases had also caused a shortening of the frenulum. It is this brake which itself caused the shrunken ring.
To soften the foreskin, and reduce the stricture, two things were necessary:
1) The first consisted in cutting the brake to unclamp the ring. No need to go to the hospital for this. This can be done at home by practicing a "tying up" yourself, a very simple painless and bleeding-free method that uses a thread passed through the frenulum and tightened on it. I can walk you through the process in a PM if you want.
2) The medical treatment which consisted of the application of a corticosteroid ointment based on Betamethasone at 0.05% supplemented by simple movements of traction on the foreskin to relax the tightening ring. However, you have to be patient, because the treatment can take several weeks to be effective. But the end result was convincing, and the crunch disappeared. Of course, at the same time, this friend had to undergo treatment for his diabetes.
I remain at your disposal if you have any questions on which I could help you. Nofren64.
Good ! Let me know ! But be careful, if the doc offers you an automatic circumcision, be careful! Some doctors offer ex officio circumcision because it brings them money. They are not looking for your comfort. It should be kept in mind that circumcision remains a mutilation of part of the penis!
Hi Man definitely get it checked out with your doctor don't leave it. Any changes to the skin should be investigated. it could be a fungal yeast infection or something more serious like a skin condition you should also get checked for diabetes so definitely get it sorted.
I personally hope you can possibly stretch it enough to avoid any type of surgery. Plus having a longer foreskin would be something I would personally like.
I've started doing some stretching yesterday. Apparently, it's the combination of steroid cream and stretching that makes the difference. I\ll see what the doctor has to say next week.
I hope the discomfort lessens before then. waking up in the middle of the night because my body decides I need to have an erection isn't good. Uncomfortable I can cope with, as long as it doesn't get too painful.
Personal preference is a different matter
😜I always thought that I'd like a longer foreskin. If this is the price I have to pay for that, then I'd rather go back to the way it was.
You have my sympathy. I remember waking up in the night with what felt like a tight elastic band round my erection. Feels better now but I still kind of miss my foreskin. Keep up the stretching and hopefully things go well with the doc next week
I saw my GP today and told her that I suspected phimosis. I explained that I'd sought advice and the general consensus was stretching exercises and steroid cream.
After a quick, but thorough, exam she agreed and prescribed Beclomethasone ??? cream. Unfortunately is is apparently in short supply so the pharmacist gave me ointment instead.
I have to apply it once daily and continue the stretching exercises.
