Hi, I have recently been to a gp who believes i have phimosis. I'm not sure how bad it is however, because they were vague in their description. My penis is quite tight, and sometimes can be uncomfortable... the doctor prescribed an antiseptic cream from memory, but im wondering if there are stretching methods? These werent mentioned. Any thoughts or advice are much appreciated!

Phimosis stretching methods or techniques?
Hi Man your GP should have given you some steroid cream which would help with stretching. Have you had the phimosis for long and can you retract the foreskin when flaccid? Try the stretchers in the link usually after a hot shower or Bath it is easier and using some lube maybe some E45 lotion.

Hi MrMac99 I’ve had the tightness for as long as I can remember. I can pull back my foreskin a little when my penis is flaccid. But not much… I do not own lube however
Hi it's important to be able to retract your foreskin and clean every day underneath it. if it's difficult for you to do this you should tell your doctor they may give you some steroid cream which would help with stretching. if this doesn't help after some time and it's uncomfortable or painful you may need to consider having a circumcision.
Steroid cream and stretching may help. Coconut oil is a good lube as is standard baby oil. This may help, but takes time. If you can pull back when flaccid it is unlikely Doc' will refer you for Surgery, assuming you in UK ?
If stretching leads to splitting you may want to consider surgery but think carefully before you decide.
I had the same problem and was prescribed an antiseptic cream with a low dose of steroid which did nothing. I went back to doctor who consulted with urology dept at hospital who recommended another steroid cream which helped but didn't get rid of the problem 9times out of 10 when I had sex or masturbated, the skin split. Like Mr Mac suggested I also tried stretching in bath but no joy. I ended up getting a circumcision probaby cos I left it too long before seeking help. I would go back to your doctor for more help or ask to be referred to a urologist
I have been Hydrocortisone 1% of course you have to keep using it seems to be a bit looser now though I've also got male Thrush which is an itch around testlicals and between the legs ... Things are improving slowly I've always been tight.
An antiseptic cream as such will do absolutely nothing to ease a tight foreskin. It might respond to a strong cortico-steroid cream accompanied for several months by stretching exercises. However these are inconvenient, uncomfortable and very often useless. You may wish to consider circumcision that will definitely permanently cure your problem. Talk with your doctor again.
Creams aren't necessary ... just take things into your own hands and do a few simple "stretches" every day and in time ... with both patience and persistence .... you will be able to retract only please don't pull down on a tight foreskin until its ready. See:
