Desensitizing the entire penis head after circumcision. How long?

I understand that some people who have never retracted their foreskin and expose their heads and have frenulum in tact would need longer time. But how come some people with the same condition but they managed to settle down quickly eventhough they didn't do anything to purposefully desensitize it? Does it have anything to do with underlying health issue or DNA?

If you'll pardon the pun I don't think there's any hard and fast rule. I'm on day 13 of my recovery, completely uncovered and wearing normal underwear and jeans. Hardly any sensitivity issues at all. Three days ago it was so sensitive I was still walking around naked when possible and struggling to sleep. Possibly in my case it's because I'm overweight and not very big when flaccid so the glans is somewhat protected, but pre-op I had severe balanitis so the glans was incredibly inflamed and sore. All that cleared up in the past three days. The glans scabbed over with a soft wet scab which sloughed off in the bath a couple of days ago leaving behind what looks like a completely normal glans of uniform colour and no inflammation. The only discomfort I'm getting now is from the stitches. I'm astounded to be honest and very grateful because on day 2/3 I was so scared the sensitivity wouldn't go away. I'd imagine if you're big when flaccid you might have a bigger issue with sensitivity because the glans is more likely to rub against your underwear.

Thank you for your thought on this. I'm glad that thing's are going well for you. I just hope mine would settle down at least to the level of comfort. The occasional sharp pain is annoying and it has been causing me constant anxiety.

How long are you post circumcision?

10 months. The discomfort has been bothering me. Any suggestion is appreciated. It seems like either there is progress or non.

Oh, I thought you’d be way less. I’m not sure what it could be. I’m 2.5 months and it’s getting better weekly, not all gone but better then the first 4 weeks. What exactly is bothering?

just the sensitivity near the tip meatus area and frenulum. sometimes it feels like twinge, and whenever I duck, enter the car reaching for the seat, there will be friction that can cause that twinge.

I kinda know what you mean. I get that with my meatus. I heard it can take 12-18 months to fully get used to everything. I hate saying that but you’re closer to that mark then I am. I don’t think there is really anyway other then letting your body heal itself. People don’t realize that just because the cut is on the outside it doesn’t mean it didn’t affect nerves on the inside and those nerves need to be re-wired by your brain and body. Give it time. Unfortunately a lot of us are in the same boat, especially if you got it at a later age

Yes, you got it right; just that annoying occasional sharp pain feeling whenever the tip and its surrounding rubs against cloth. You are right that most people don't understand what we are going through because only those who really gets the cut only would know what we are talking about. It's tough because it seems like forever...

We're all different but the more you protect it the longer it will take. Even after 2 years I'm aware of my penis head rubbing against clothes but in a very pleasant way. (Think it constantly sends a message to the brain to be horny!)

My head had not been exposed much before my circ' and I took some weeks to become accustomed. 10 months seems a long time. I would advise introducing some light pressure for you to become accustomed. Try a gentle spray from shower and build up intensity and time. Good luck

Thank you for your suggestion. I have been experiencing various frictions and pressure. Though there is improvement but it takes too long. The long duration it takes makes me wonder is this even working or time is the factor. I am also opting for a sublimal subconscious training to reprogramme my brain.

As others have said, we are all different. I was off work for 12 weeks, but read on here of men who are back at work next day !The subconscious training is definitely something to consider. I was some weeks in before I started introducing light pressure and I think if I didn't it would have gone on much longer with my discomfort.

It does get better.
