Super sensitive penis head post phimosis circumcision

Circumcision due to phimosis. Had procedure done yesterday. The head is so sensitive that i can’t touch it with anything! Any advice on how to decrease the sensitivity or how long it will be before it starts to improve to the point where i can put a gauze around it without almost fainting?

Did you get any post-surgery care instructions from your surgeon?

How long it took for the stitches to fall? It's more than 1 month and the stitches are still there. I stopped using guaze and I am wearing a light fabric underwear

Always follow instructions given by doctor. If he/she didn’t give any then call and ask for some. What I found to be most helpful was putting up with the sensitivity as much as I could and not avoiding doing anything. The more it rubs the quicker it’ll desensitize. FYI I also had a circumcision for the same reason, not feeling too much sensitivity anymore but I work in construction so I went through the worst of it in the first week which is why I’m fine now. Also what works for me may not work for you so again always check with doctor. Best of luck!

Hi thanks for the feedback. How long ago did u have it and how long did it take before you were able to wear underwear or put a gauze around it without feeling unbearable sensitivity.

Got Circ on 11th June. Shang ring removed about 2 weeks ago now. First week was awful but I still put gauze on it. I haven’t worn gauze on the head since 4th day cause I wanted to get used to sensitivity asap.

I’m at the point where applying gauze on the head hurts very bad so hopefully it clears up soon.

It’s going to be very sensitive for at least a week minimum, my recovery has been quicker than normal so I’ve been lucky but just battle through it you’ll be fine. Honestly the hardest part for me was making the decision and paying for it!

You will feel well on the 4th week, i had very sensitive glance too, now i feel only disconfort sometimes. Stop applying gauges start wearing bigger pants and let it rub, it will lose sensitivity over time but at least 3-4 weeks post op

The problem is it’s even to sensitive to touch it with the gauze

I know my friend had it same here, you had the op on 11 june, its time to start wearing bigger boxers, its the only way out, you will walk like a penguin it’s gonna be painful but you have to battle through it. Let it rub so the glance hardens itself, and don’t wear skinny pants (idk the word in english soz) only bigger ones so it can move freely, even try to rub it by yourself under the shower after some days, no matter if its really painful, just a bit - a minute or so, it will help, thats how i got through it and i had super sensitivity as well and i still got some discomfort, its a slow process

Oh my bad, didn’t read the right reply. Then you should wait till the stitches come off. When applying gauges i used Deflamol, idk if in america is the same, it wassnt pleasant but it helped a lot, and lidocaine for the night so i can atleast sleep. Also make yourself baths with smoketree for at least 15-20 days.

How long was it until u were able to apply the gauze without horrible pain?

QKneeCap profile image
QKneeCap in reply toAs1014

If you do it slowly its bearable, but without any pain maybe 8 days i think or so

Any tips on easier ways to urinate without going thru taking the gauze off

No easier way, just apply more of the medicine cream? that you doctor told you to use, so your head doenst stick to the gauges. After peeing make smoketreee bath always.

Yes, it will get away in week or two, maybe even month or more. You are on the second day dont panic so much, Its gonna be hard the first and second week. I started going out on the 10th day NORMALLY, still i was walking a lot slower.

Don't wear Gauze after 1 week, let the glans dry, this drying process makes keratinization faster that will reduce sensitivity ! In the mean time make Ur mind to stay with tickling so this sensation can be normalised only with mental practice. Don't worry enjoying the tickling.. coming weeks u will feel normal. Cheers

I had surgery on 7th Aug and 4th week is running. It was very painful and awful to see my penis with stiches for the first 1 week. First week was horrible in terms of sensitivity and pain while dressing and tried to sleep naked at night. It got little better in second week and now able to apply gauze without any problem. And I still having some discomfort with senstivity but not as first week. It takes time as this was covered by skin for these long years, we can't expect it to heal in a days. Just keep it dry, dress regularly and take rest. You will fine with the days to pass.
