Cut frenulum during surgery - loss of sensitivity?

6 days ago I had a surgery to clean up scar tissue and excess skin caused by my original circumcision which caused discomfort and inflammation. The original circumcision being near my birth where my frenulum was preserved.

I noticed only yesterday that the surgeon cut through the frenulum to perform the surgery, as he needed to cut all the way around the penis. I also did not know how important the frenulum is for sensitivity of the penis so it was a shock after noticing it was gone now.

I know it's only been 6 days but when I try rub the sensitive spot where the frenulum used to be, it does not feel as sensitive as before so I'm worried it will be like that forever.

So basically my question is in your guys experience, how much of a difference does the frenulum make for sensitivity, and is it normal for penis sensitivity to take a good few weeks to come back after a circumcision or any surgery done to it?

I'm very worried, since when I try feel it out at the moment it's very much less sensitive than it was before, so I can't tell if it's because it the cut frenulum or that I need to wait longer for recovery. Thanks.

It is early to evaluate the new true sensitivity level but the frenulum is important component . your happiness is depends how you approach the reduced level if sensitivity and is important on your psychological well being. Some dont like a high level if sensitivity and getting an organism within a few minutes. They prefer having a longer session do that their partner can achieve their orgasm too. It's not fun for all if you are the only one getting the orgasm and while your girlfriend is just getting warmed up...the relationship wont last long. Also your orgasm should be more intense if it takes longer as the pressure builds. The surgery is irreversible so if you take the results as a negative, you will be depressed..of you look at the results as a positive..you will have a healthier outlook on life and your sex life in general.. :)

The reduction in sensitivity is permanent. You will never feel as much pleasure as a non circumcised individual.

Some sensitivity may return after full healing, but full healing takes 6 to 12 months and don't expect to be that sensitive.

Overall your mental approach matters, if you like feeling pleasure during sex or like just giving your partner pleasure.

Hi it's still early days for you the frenulum is a sensitive area. it won't be the same as before but in time it will be better and you will adapt to the defrent feel. You will last longer which will give your partner more pleasure you're a climax should be stronger. Once you have healed completely and have adapted to everything you were still have pleasure. 🙂
