Tight or loose underwear?

Currently on day 23 after circumcision surgery. Since operation, as advised by doctor i have been wearing tight underwear at all times and keeping in upright position in order to reduce swelling. As I’ve passed three weeks and almost all stitches have dissolved i feel like I should start wearing more loose clothing to help with the sensitivity. I have realised the glans is still really sensitive when walking with loose clothing. Should I be worried about extra swelling after changing the tightness of clothing? There is only a small amount of swelling left I think. I just don’t want to delay the desensitising. Any advice in general?

By week 3 I pretty much didn’t need to wear tight underwear and keep my penis facing up, but if you’ve still got a little bit of swelling, I’d give it one more week then try wearing loose underwear and see how it goes from day to day.

You could always just ask your doctor too.

Thanks a lot! Will be seeing doctor after 4 week mark. Just annoying because it feels like I have to sacrifice swelling or sensitivity lol

I had my circumcision about 2 weeks ago due to phimosis. My glans had never seen the light of day - except for the very tip.

The first 2 weeks were terrible - luckily, I can work from home, have absolutely no travel, and had stocked up on groceries - having planned for down time of 2 weeks.

I usually wear boxers, but bought briefs specifically to provide a tight hold on my penis. I found that the briefs were wonderful - they held it in place - no movements. I would recommend minimizing the time you use tight underwear though. With the exception of a couple of hours with briefs, the rest of it was just with a thin long towel wrapped around my waist - a lot of freedom and air; Stitches getting caught in clothing was my biggest worry and casue for pain.

It is now day 15th, and I am able to wear my usual boxers; I still get that occasional rubbing which can be uncomfortable. I managed to go out grocery shopping too.

Your walk is going to be different for at least 2-3 weeks post surgery. Don't try to compensate. I find that sometimes I walk with my feet wider apart than usual.

You'll pull through! I've seen quiet a few posts here, and they all share similar experiences - the good thing is that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hey bro I had my circumsicion 3 weeks ago today for the first week I literally didn’t wear any underwear I stayed in bed or walked downstairs in a dressing gown I thought my life was over it was that painful a week later I tried to put ‘tite’ underwear on but it was horrible because it was constantly running so I put my usual baggy boxers on still really sensitive and had to take it easy for another week I only put them on if I really needed to but after 2 weeks I went back to work and things feel ALOT better all my stitches have gone the wound is scabbed up now and the swelling is 90% gone I never had my dick upright only at night so the cut was facing upright but never when I was walking around and my dick was like a baloon I think you will feel ALOT better in baggy boxers and it will deffo not delay any swelling hang it there bro all will be good hope this helps
