I’m at day 6 after a circumcision. I immediately noticed post-op that the stitching where the frenulum used to be on the underneath was messy and swollen so it looked like a fin, but it’s painful to touch or move and there’s exudate around the area. I called the hospital and they’ve prescribed antibiotics and taken a swab. I figure it should sort itself out but has anyone else had an infection like this and did it delay recovery?

Infected circumcision
This is how it’s looking
I got my mine done 11 days ago and this morning I woke up and 5 of my stitches ripped I’m a frustrated because now the healing process will take longer make urs u don’t rip your stitches and don’t itch anywhere on the penis even the shaft
I’m just finding it so frustrating and unnerving. There was always a 10% chance of infection but reading on here it’s clear that recovery can take a significant time. My consultant just said “no sex for a week”. I reach that milestone today and my penis is a million miles away from being ready for sex again. I hope you’re ok and the stitches settle down soon.
A week?! You shouldn’t do any sexual activities for 4-6 weeks.
That was my plan from reading up on it but I feel my consultant has massively undersold the recovery process. Of course I would have still gone along with it because sex was painful before due to having BXO, but I would have been more mentally prepared for it had he been more realistic.
On day 24 and my stitch near frenulum got broke...recovering well now after antibiotics...I do cover it with bandage daily
Same thing happened with me.. but not though in stitching. My stapler got slided back into the wound in frenulum area on day 6, and the whole thing got infected. Now I got it stitched at day 10. Hope everything goes well.
This is simply your body in reaction to the surgery,It effects people in different ways. Some people heal quicker than others, as others swell more than others. It took close to, two weeks for myself to subside, thought i was infected, just the body reaction.
