Constant dull ache/burning sensation in penis... help!

So since I was in my 30s I’ve had an intermittently reoccurring issue that happens about every 6-12 months where I suddenly have a constant dull ache/burning sensation in my urethra. It gets worse when I have to pee. And I have to pee more frequently. Been checked for bacteria and STDs and it’s all come back negative. Even took an anti-fungal thinking it could be Balanitis. It does seem to start after intercourse. Sometimes it seems like if I start an antibiotic it will go away more quickly. But it seems to be a different one every time so I think that it’s my head. And sometimes it seems to extend down into my scrotum. Could it be prostatitis? I had been diagnosed with that before for the condition but they gave me bactrim to take which almost makes it seem to feel worse and it doesn’t go away. Sometimes it seems to go away on its own after several weeks. Idk, I just wonder if there’s anyone else that has the same symptoms and what was your diagnosis... or what helped? I have it now and it’s really impacting my life. I’ve been on doxycycline, ciprofloxacin, and Zithromax to try and treat this in the past... sometimes they seem to work, sometimes they don’t. I’m at my wits end.

Sounds exactly like non-bacterial prostatitis, I live with this daily and completely understand the effect this has on your life style. The antibiotics are not going to work they never did for me, best advice I can give you is go to the urologist not your doctor and they will give you a proper diagnosis.

There isn’t enough information about this issue but it’s a issue.

Am currently taking amitriptyline and what can I say this drug has worked wonders On this issue. Few annoying side effects like dry mouth but definitely out ways the pain and discomfort i was in.

Hey, I've had similar experiences. Been dealing with balanitis for 2.5yrs now. It just came out of nowhere. I've battled infections probably from all the medications I was given. I was told by many doctors its non specific irritatetion and that I should get circumcision. I got circumcision 2 months ago and its 1 week now that the light light burning (carpet burn) sensation has come back. I'm really fed up with all this. I feel you. You guys have any other treatments advice that works? I feel doctors dont take my situation seriously . thanks

Hi, i am suffering from this problem from few years and visited doctors. Sometimes burning sensation goes away but most of the times its there. Doctors advised me circumcision but i am thinking what if the problem still persist them what will i do. After reading your post, it looks we have same problem. Do you also feel-

1. Whenever i do intercourse without condom, my penis glans are very hot and itchy and there is no control on ejuculation, result in premature ejuculation. But with condom its fine.

2. After masterbation this burning sensation goes away for few hours.

Plz share your experiences, i am very much confused what to do.
