I have been trying to retract my foreskin when peeing to stop the urine from going under my foreskin to see if I can prevent my reoccurring balanitis. Sometimes when I pee the stream is like a high pressure pencil jet and for no reason the next time could be like a watering can. Sometimes it comes out in 2 streams going in different directions. What causes this and what can be done about it. If I need to get circumcised I won’t be able to control the stream. Please advise.
Do you think retracting my foreskin while peeing will help prevent balanitis? (I’m type 2 diabetic)

Keeping tight control of your blood sugars is the best thing to do as it is the sugars in your urine that can cause or make balanitis worse.
Hi Cdg35, I wish I knew what to tell you. I also have type 2 Diabetes and sometimes have similar problems. I hate it when sometimes I’m wearing shorts, I pee and everything seems ok, then I start to zip up an my shorts are soaked from pee shooting backwards I guess! I just have to be very careful, pull that sucker out as far as possible, peel my foreskin back, and shoot for the latrine!
Even though I’m doing ok not being cut, it seems that it might help in your case. Of course that’s a decision only you can make after consultation with your MD.
P.S. As a last resort, we could sit on the toilet while peeing! 😂
Hi JonJohn, when I sit on the toilet my penis retracts into my pubic fat. I can push the fat back far enough to point my penis down but not enough to pull my foreskin back.
