Post Circumcision query (healing, pain, sensitive!!!!!)

Day 8 of circumcision. Glans super sensitive. Cant wear any clothing as the feeling is quite unbearable. Stitches still up. Swelling still stays. Erection getting more painfull near stitches. Need help to get rid of swelling and how to reduce glans sensitivity faster.

It’s a matter of riding it out, I did use underwear that was really lose on me because I didn’t want to have it touch anywhere. I’m on week 3 on Monday it’ll be week 4. Your penis will get used to the underwear and sleep naked at night since it’s better. I put a pillow between my lower stomach to keep the blanket off the penis while sleeping. It was a very 2 uncomfortable weeks. Not sure what circumcision you got done but I wasn’t hurting as bad. Maybe try Tylenol for the pain. If your doc gave you an ointment put it on and just move the excess ointment to the shaft so it’s not so dry. I can say that by week 2 or sooner you’ll be getting better.

That was really good to hear expecting to get good soon thanks alot! Also i got a circumcision normal one which tapers untill the head of glan and its swollen left downwards of the shaft

Gotcha, you can try to soak it in warm salt water.

2 teaspoons of salt per quart of warm water. Not hot cause it will hurt ya. Just be careful. Have you also had a follow up appointment with your urologist?

Yeah had first visit 2 days prior he said start bathing with shower let the water get over the abdomen and runn to the op area. Stitches seems to fall off the next week i guess. I dont use salt.. Just body soap that i apply during bath and the shower water running down on it.. I prefer applying anesthetic ointment before going for a bath cause its too unbearable.

Might have a next appointment the next week on friday

Ok, it’s best to follow your docs instruction. For myself I didn’t do the salt water just because I was using bacitracin which is an antibiotic ointment that my doc gave me. He didn’t specified on the time but i used it for 2 weeks. I had some stitches left maybe like 3-4, then on week 3 I only had 1 so I snipped that one since there was no pain on it just waiting forever to fall off. Although they say to leave them alone and they will fall off on their own. I think you’re doing good and i know it can be super uncomfortable but trust and believe that the pain will go away soon, also they say that erections aid in the healing process (although it feels like that’s a lie lol but it does)

Anytime, feel free to send me a private message if you have more questions. Although I’m not a doctor I’m going through the procedure. We have different way of healing and sometimes having someone to reassure you makes you feel good that you’re being heard and not be overwhelmed by yourself. Hey! I’m from India too. I got my circumcision done 22 days back. I have one stitch left today.

I got it done due to phimosis and balanitis. I’m 22 years old. And it was hyper-sensitive for the first 2-2.5 weeks. I used to apply the antibiotic cream suggested by the doctor all over the penis, but I realised that it was very important to let it dry to desensitise it. So I started applying the cream only to the wound and not to the head. That is when the sensitivity started reducing. I would still suggest you to apply the cream all over the head of the penis before you sleep. Because it is unbearable to sleep with a dry sensitive penis.

Today on day 22 I wore my underwear. I applied Vaseline petroleum jelly (without fragrance) to the head of the penis before wearing the underwear. I was a bit uncomfortable, but it did not hurt. It’s a different sensation. I’m sure you would want to apply Vaseline before wearing clothes.

And the yellow fluid or the yellowish or whitish film on the head of the penis is pretty normal. Happens for almost everyone. It will go with time.

Glad to hear you are doing well.. i turned 19 on the day of operation lol i got stitches left but i guess they will drop soon.. For sensitivity i have been giving an ointment that covers the glans and reduces sensitivity and betadine for wounds around stitches. I also figured the same to let it reduce the sensitivity on its own.. Lemme know if i should stop applying lignocaine hydrochloride gel IP(the one that covers the glans and reduces sensitivity temporary) also is it ok if my dettol soap drops till the wound aread while bathing? I haven't seen any puss formation just the swollen incision area. I let the area cleansed by the shower flowing water itself

You can let soap water run over the penis, but ensure that you put clean water at the end so that there is no soap residue

We’ve all been through that! Adult circumcision is uncomfortable but you will be happy once it’s all healed. What you’re dealing with is the same as anyone who had adult circumcision. Don’t worry. You’re not alone.
