Hi I’m new to this site and I really need advice, I’ve had this problem now since April and haven’t been able to get seen to by doctors properly due to COVID 19 and can’t find anything online with someone having had the same problem before.

What started out as a very small cut on the back of my penis (under the foreskin) has gotten very big, bad and scary looking now. Every time I try and roll back my foreskin (even just to clean my penis) the cut re-opens and keeps getting larger.

It’s got to the point where it just looks like a gash that needs stitches. I’m in desperate need of help/advice as it keeps deteriorating and is seriously affecting my mental health. I’m really worried that it’ll take a lot of fixing up for it to heal or that I’ll get an infection by the time I actually get seen to by the nhs.

Something is not right. You really need to get referred to a urologist.

I actually paid £180 for a private consultation with a urologist to try and speed things up, but I’ve just been put on a waiting list. My concern is that by the time something actually gets done about it, it will be 10x worse because it is getting worse by the day.

Not an ideal situation for you. I’m surprised the private consultation was not more helpful.

Doctors are still doing daily telephone consultations and some are doing video ones too. If a problem requires it, they also see you in the surgery having done the phone/video assessment.

If all else fails, use an Urgent Treatment Centre or A & E
