Regarding Foreskin & Penis

Hi, I am 18 years old and I can’t retract my foreskin beyond the tip of my penis. I haven’t been able to retract it for years now. I do my best to keep it clean but it has been very hard for the past couple years. I also think may my foreskin is attached to me penis head. I want to have sex for the first time soon but I feel like this will be an issue.

Hi mate you sound very similar to what I went through. Age 18 I had phimosis tight foreskin I tried steroid cream and stretching when washing which didn’t achieve much for myself. Age 19 August the 22nd I went for a circumcision to fix my phimosis.

I recommend to you to contact your GP whenever you can and get yourself examined by the doctor and you can try a steroid cream hopefully to see if this can help aid you to be able to retract your foreskin. Steroid creams and stretching can take time please be patient.

Do you have any pain when you try to force the foreskin down?

Do try not to force it especially if it causes you pain slowly stretch the foreskin when you wash and speak to your GP if you can.

Do you feel it is attached at the bottom of your foreskin? Now you have something at the bottom under the foreskin called the frenulum which helps aid the foreskin go place it back to its upright position.

Your foreskin should be able to freely move and expose your glans fully with no force.

You should be able to clean under there. You said you haven’t been able to retract for the last few years. Was you ever able to expose your glans? For me I have never been able to retract my foreskin for as long as I’ve known.

Trust me try not to feel embarrassed about talking to your doctor about this issue they would of come across it before and they just want to do their duty to help you.

If steroid cream does not work they can up the dosage to a potent steroid cream it’s all down to them on what they feel is appropriate. It can take time to stretch it but if not much happens return to your doctor and you will hopefully be referred to a urologist.

I wish you the very best on your journey.

1) Yes it does pain when I try to retract it on both erect & flaccid.

2) I’m pretty sure under my penis is the frenulum

3) My foreskin is not able to move back and forth freely and I haven’t been able to expose my glands

4) I could barley expose my tip and my penis head is extremely sensitive when I do that and it starts to hurt.

Definitely sounds like you need to see a GP. How big would you say your opening is? Phimosis has different stages.

Depending on the stage you are on steroid creams may help you.

Have you ever looked into options like possible surgery which you may need if these creams don’t work. (Circumcision)

Age 8 you should of been able to start retracting your foreskin but in yours and my case we wasn’t able to due to our phimosis.

Your glans will be very sensitive as you said because your glans has never seen the light of day like myself. You will most likely have smegma build ups underneath.

It is important to be able to clean under the foreskin to avoid getting any other medical problems.

My opening isn’t very big I would say, as stated I’m barely able to retract my penis beyond the head and it states to close up back.

And I am looking into booking an appointment to see my doctor soon about this issue I have.

Yes I completely understand mate.

Are you based in the UK?

Definitely needs seeing to before any other medical conditions appear. But also to make you feel much more comfortable as it’s not nice having tight foreskin.

Are you able to pass urine okay?

No I’m based in the United States in NYC. I have also had no problems passing urine whatsoever and I’ve tried my best to clean the foreskin to my best ability

Ahh okay I’m not sure how the health care works over there.

I do hope you get an appointment with a GP ASAP.

That’s good you are able to pass urine okay.

I understand mate I tried my best also. If you can try and get some syringes and flush clean water under the foreskin to help keep it clean and clear underneath your foreskin do make sure the water is at the correct temperature not to cause any burning.

I do wish you the very best on your journey you are always welcome to message me if you need any questions or support. I will try my best but please any medical questions please bring up to your GP.

genuine phimosis and a tight foreskin are two entirely different things.

I’m in the U.S. too and I’m 19. I got circumcised because of the exact same reason as you right before turning 18. Don’t be shy to talk to your doctor about this at all because you have no idea how many cases like that they have and they don’t even care. I was recommended to try a steroid cream to stretch it down but I got no results at all and because I was impatient I just decided to get circumcised. If you decide to do that make sure you do lots of research before just so ur ready for the after procedure. Good luck

You definitely have to go see your GP or a urologist. They will give you some options on treatment. But, man you have to take care of this.

Definitely see your doctor - your issue needs sorting out. By all means try the stretching exercises.

Hi Man, all very good advice from the guys above you need to have it sorted as it is important to be able to retract and clean properly. it could cause problems later on if you can't. so you will need to see your GP and see how it goes from there.
