Hey guys, just created an account so bear with me if this doesn't fit the normal format. So I'm 18 and uncircumcised but my foreskin has yet to fully retract still at my age. I'm able to get part of it over the head of my penis but the "front" portion of the foreskin still seems to be attached to some sort of tendon/gland (not sure what the proper terminology is.) I'm able to clean most of my penis but not being able to retract it all the way definitely makes it harder. I was wondering if this is normal or if I should maybe speak to a doctor about it?

Is it normal at 18 to still not be able to retract my uncircumcised penis?
Hey man I’m 20yo and I had this problem until like 2 weeks ago (I got Circumcised). I had some thing called phimosis so it was hard for me to pull my foreskin back, it was like my fore skin was too tight or there wasn’t enough. It made sex hard so I decided to get circumcised. I would definitely go see a doctor because there are many things they can do for you like stretching and creams and stuff before you even have to consider circumcision. I only did it because mine got really bad. Good luck to you man!
What you are describing is not unusual so don’t worry. You should see your doctor about it though. Don’t be embarrassed- your doctor has seen this before and will know how you are feeling.
It should have been possible to fully, freely and painlessly retract your foreskin, whether flaccid or erect, at least by 8 yerars old. Your parents ought to have checked that you could retract and taught you to daily wash under the retracted foreskin to remove all the smegma and other waste that collects there.
Inability to freely retract is called phimosis, but from your description you may actually be suffering from frenulum breve (a related developmental abnormality).
You MUST see a doctor soon and get a proper diagnosis as we cannot do that over the internet. Your condition will interfere with sexual activity as well as inviting infections due to not washing away the waste daily.
Having had the same problem as you at that age I can promise you there is no “normal” age. Although you should be able to retract your foreskin when your penis is soft, when it’s erect quite a few guys up to their early 20’s can’t retract or if they can it’s very tight. I was one of those guys. Don’t rush into any operation for a quick fix, my doctor had a look when I was around 17, explained that I was a late developer, recommended stretching in the bath or shower as often as possible and if it didn’t work come back. Slowly over time my foreskin began to retract when erect and now works perfectly. You have to get into the habit of doing it, when you have a pee, retract every time, this naturally stretches the skin. Hopefully eventually you’ll have a fully functioning penis, and intact too, as the foreskin is a wonderful tool to have!
Hi Man, it's not normal but it is common for guys your age and even older. my advice is to visit your doctor they will advise you and probably give you some creams. some stretching in the bath or shower, taking your time is important not to do damage you don't want any scarring to happen. First thing is to get checked
