Hi All.I am booked in for a adult circumcision on the 24th May.

I am really scared and nervous.

I know it's silly but I am wondering if the stitches go through the head of the penis?

Or are the stitches just through the skin a few centimeters down the shaft away from the head of the penis.

Any tips for after the surgery. What to wear? how to sleep?

Did you still get morning errctions and like during the course of day and did they hurt?

You'll be fine, no need to worry. No stitches don't go through head, they will be at base around area of upper frenelum. It is a very uncomplicated proceedure, in my case I remember surgeon laughing as I told him I'd more pain with a cut finger.

don’t worry you will be fine I had mine done 14 days ago and I was not looking forward to it either 🙈but the procedure ain’t that bad once you get passed the four injections 2at top 2 at the base the real journey begins when the anaesthetic wears off about 1.5 hours later for me first 3 to 4 days was the worst walking round like (John Wayne)took paracetamol and ibroprofen for a couple days as you will find out sleeping on your back will be the best option as for any movement down there morning erection ain’t good go for a wee and hope it passes I found it quit painful for me the road was quite rocky but now has smooth out but you will be fine don’t worry just go with the flow work wise I took 2 weeks off which Iam glad I did 👍

Hidden I am going for it due to phimosis. I am in Ireland.

No they didn't ask me if I want high and right or anything.

Probly going to use stitches.

You should talk to him clearly about the position of cut and the tightness, how much of the inner foreskin is to be intact and most importantly method, like open surgery or laser or stapler or gomco or pollock etc, stapler is best according to my knowledge no blood no stitches and can be discharged on the same day within hours after surgery, no need to visit doctor for the removal of stitches, the staples would automatically drop themselves in a week or two. The best part of it is, it gives cosmetic results, without any bumps or wiered stitch marks.Just research for yourself about the methods or the best thing is to talk to doctor regarding this.

highly recommend to wear either silk or satin boxers after the circumcision, cotton will cause the stitches to caught on them.

The head isn't touched. Just the surface e of skin on shaft. I'm 39 and it was really scary! But actually doesn't hurt at all! Getting a filling from a cavity hurts more and that doesn't hurt at all! Wear loose clothes like basketball shorts. Get some soft stretchy boxers and loose basketball shorts. Also buy some neosporin, non stick soft thin gauze, and gauze bandage rolls bcuz after 2-3days you'll probky have to re wrap after every shower. DO NOT TAKE A BATH OR SUBMERGE TIL WOUND IS CLOSED!! scar sheets and bio oil for once wound is fully healed to heal scar faster = just cosmetic. Sleep on back or side in fetal position

Im in Ireland too and also had this done and all is good since! I would definitely ask questions about the style of circumcision being done as some guys are cut really tight and when erect they have no movement of the shaft skin so it's hard to masturbate as the skin doesn't move, they have to use lube!

It's better to have more mobile skin on the shaft that can move up and down! I can grab the skin when soft and pull it over the head as there is plenty of skin left! A lot of guys can't do this and it's really tight even when soft!!

Just do your research on it and don't be afraid to ask questions as it's your body and once it's done it's done,there's no going back !!

You don't want to come out of there and be disappointed with the outcome and then say oh I didn't realise it would be like this or that!

It is not too late to to avoid the circumcision. While some men report a good outcome others report a bad outcome. Be aware of what problem you are trying to solve and whether there are more conservative treatments. It might be worth trying alternatives before you go for an irreversible step.
