6 weeks after circumcision (swollen corona)

Hi, today I’m on my 6th week post circumcision due to phimosis and all of the stitches have fallen out and most of the bruising / swelling has healed. But the bottom part of the head next to the frenulum is still pretty swollen. All my doctor told me was to take warm baths and I’ve been doing that mostly every day since my surgery but I haven’t seen much progress in that specific area.

Also my glans sensitivity is slowly getting better but it’s still pretty sensitive, especially the outer skin between the glans and the shaft (not sure what it’s called) but I still feel stinging sensations when I touch that area. Any tips on how to speed up the healing process?

I’m still applying Neosporin almost daily.

The sensitivity loss will happen as the head toughens up (keratinisation), the only way to speed it up is to bite the bullet and give it as much friction as possible to get it over and done with. Try going commando and not wearing anything in bed!

Good advice!

Yeah I’ve been sleeping naked every day since the surgery. But in a fetal position to avoid it touching anything. I’ve been slowly transitioning back into sleeping on my stomach so I’m progressing little by little.

The swollen skin underneath the glans (where the stitches were) is what’s bothering me the most right now though.

Glad you're progressing with it, you'll get there in the end I promise. As for the swelling, mine took between 6 and 9 months to settle down completely. You think it's never going to go then suddenly you realise it has. Looks like a great cut to me and healing well.

Wow that’s such a long time. Did it bother you that entire time? Or at what point did you feel comfortable walking around without any protection? I’m still wrapping it up with non stick pads because the swelling is too sensitive. I’m going to take your advice though and give it more friction so that I can get used to it.

Hi babyblue1 he looks like he is healing well but looks dry careful massage with coconut oil it's good stuff and good for skin and it smells nice too you are defo on the right track for your recovery around the frenulum is always last to heal and swelling is normal have you got any pain the sensitive will go it's a time thing mine took 6 month and it can take longer but I am 60 so it does take longer to heal when your older the stinging sensations is also normal I had them as well also you have a nice Willy and a good size good luck and take care

May I ask you why do you still use 'Neosporin' if there is no visible inflammation or open wound anymore. There is no reason to use antibiotics for nothing (just avoiding pricey doctor in US). Did your doc or clinic suggest you to use it for rest of your healing period ( like up to 24 months)?

You could start to use fragrance free moisturizer, emollient cream, baby oil or coconut oil on glans, former inner skin and scar line. Your head looks like quite dry. I do use silicone scar sheet on scar line, but I'm not sure if it stays on cause your scar locates quite near the glans.

BTW: There is no scientific evidence that 'Bio Oil' is any better than any other mineral oil on skin. Hype is just commercial marketing BS and quite lame (medical like) white background on their site.

My doctor told me to keep using it after my 1 week post op check up but he didn’t say for how long and it’s been 6 weeks now. But yeah if I don’t need it anymore I will stop using it.

As for the dryness I have organic extra virgin coconut oil, is that good? I just started using it today. And do you think an ice pack will help with the swelling on the bottom?

Isn’t the swelling in the picture considered inflammation? I’ve noticed more pain in the past 3 days than I have since the first couple weeks of my surgery. After I get out of the shower I notice little white dots that look like small pimples in the areas where I feel the pain (scar line). And after it drys they become less visible. Shouldn’t I continue to use Neosporin to reduce this pain? Or do you know of anything else to help heal these dots/pain?

I didn’t feel this uncomfortable when I started to use non stick pads under my clothes and I even started to walk normally with the pads on but now it feels like I’m not wearing any protection at all.

II think coconut oil is as good as any other natural/mineral oil. FYI it's good for wanking. :) There is no inflammation like swelling on frenulum area after 6 weeks post-op. Cold ice pack won't help fluid flow. Your lymphatic system on penis is just damaged on scar area. It takes time to heal. Tight rubber band feeling on scar line took 3 months to fade.

In time your cock head will toughen up as the surface goes from being internal to external skin. The area between your head and the cut is the old inner lining of your foreskin. It is good to keep as it is a great source of pleasure once things settle down in 6mos-1yr. As you age your cock will be a bit less sensitive anyway.
