I opted to have it done privately a couple of weeks after seeing my GP. I think if you go down the NHS route you probably get the type of circumcision they do at at that hospital which is probably freehand with sutures. In any event that was what I received with the surgeon deciding on where to cut. I think he made a reasonable decision. I had a week off work and the first few days was tough. I think if you want the more recent methods such as staples you’d have to go to one of the specialists. The thing that put me off those was they almost have a back alley feel about their locations. I’m happy with the result but be prepared to have to explain how it works to women as they probably won’t have seen one before yours.
Had mine done just coming up to a year now ,done NHS, l think they used glue ,as had no stitches!!,had one week off work afterwards felt different for a few days ,but ok ,in total I guess took 3 months from seeing doctor to op
