Hi, I am now 5 days post surgery and all seems to be going well. I am just wondering about how people are bathing/cleaning the wound. As I am taking daily showers but being very careful and not physically touching the area I am just letting the water drip around. Would be great to hear what others have been doing to keep it clean etc. Should I be keeping it dry, bathing it in soap or something else.

Hi there, I just washed it with warm water and very gentle drying. In the shower I let the soapy water run across the wound rather than directly wash it with soap. Some have used a salt water ‘dip’ - I never did that and had no issues at all. As healing happened I switched to direct washing with baby soap in the shower. Now it’s 100% normal. Hope things go well.

Game changer... after a shower... use the hairdryer on its coolest and most gentle setting to dry your chopper.
