Hello, yep it’s that time, now at week 8! Just as that usual reminder, for context, I was circumcised in the UK on the NHS due to a tight foreskin when erect only.
Think these updates will be getting shorter now as not a lot to say since last week, continued progression in recovery. I still have that swelling ring between scar line and head but it looks like slowly going down. There’s a little more swelling under the frenulum area but reading others updates on here that sounds like is the stubborn area and the last to fully heal and swelling to disappear. The annoying part with the swelling is that’s what’s making walking a little discomforting at times I’m sure as it’s that frenulum swelling area catching pants etc.
Still the odd twinge but think these are getting less and less. And still that vibration feeling (not sure how else to describe it) as blood flow and nerves find new routes following the op.
Other than that, I don’t have a lot to say so will leave there. I’m thinking of doing these updates to week 12 and then will review at that stage about stopping them, and think between now and then will probs just be short check ins rather than full updates as hopefully now it’s just more healing and waiting for swelling to go. If you have any questions or think I’m missing stuff in these updates and want me to cover, drop me a message or write below and can get back to you.
Thanks!

Great to hear you're progressing well. Yeah, the frenulum seems to take way longer than any other area to heal, loosen, etc. Keep the updates coming, I think they're really valuable and always good to hear from a Circ Bro who's healing up nicely.
Thanks! And yeah deffo seems the way with the frenulum area, just a tad more stubborn but getting there, hopefully a few more weeks and that will be a memory of discomfort to. Will do on the updates, will atleast go to Week 12
great to hear you’re healing is on track. I’m about 4 weeks behind you in terms of timing. It seems the swelling between scar line and glans is amongst the last thing to go.
For folks earlier on the journey, here’s some more details on the healing I’m experiencing to help keep the view things do get better and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Week 4 (32 days) after suture method due to phimosis.
All my stitches have come out and I only have a slight scab where the frenulum is, but that’s getting smaller - no bleeding at all any more. There was some very slight bleeding until 26-27 days post surgery.
Sensitivity - once the initial really scary swelling went down in the first week my glans has been exposed, and I just went with tight underwear, joggers instead of jeans for 2.5 weeks and ‘sucked it up’. By week 3 I was able to wear jeans relatively comfortably.
It now feels pretty much back to normal in terms of sensation doing every day tasks.
Had a ‘wobble’ a week ago - sudden increase in sensation and needed to pee a lot with a weird sensation in my abdomen. Got same day gp appointment and test for urine infection- nothing and it’s back to how it was.
I suppose nerves and blood vessels re-attaching so healing ongoing.
I get the odd twinge and itch but feelings and sensitivity are getting back to normal.
I still have the swelling between the scar line and glans, that is the inner foreskin, and at the bottom around the frenulum area. I’m hoping these both go down in time. It seems from other posts it will happen in time (I hope).
Scarring - early days but not much to report - hardly noticeable already.
Appearance - apart from the ‘donut’ I love it. Once the donut goes I’ll be delighted.
Overall, things are looking pretty much back to normal- I’ve a follow up with the consultant in another 8 weeks.
After a few wobbles I’m glad I got it done, couldn’t say that a couple of weeks ago, but I’m now looking forward to not getting infection and other issues that come with phimosis- that people never talk about.
For others on the journey, healing does happen, it’s not a mentally easy journey but it is worth it and things do improve.
Sorry for a long post, hopefully no-one is asleep by this point
Glad your healing well also and absolutely, think I can relate to pretty much all of what you just said above. Its deffo a mental battle early weeks but yep time is the greatest healer and eventually in most cases does seem to all work itself out as should
I do think you have to make the plunge back to underwear and soft trousers to get the sensitivity down. As soon as I stopped using stuff like Vaseline or oils I also found my healing seemed to speed up. Almost like they'd done their job and I didn't need them anymore.
