Circumcision feedback

I have phimosis and I have been thinking about getting a circumcision from a very long time. I am 36yo. Can people share their experiences as the level of pain and post op experiences following one week. I greatly appreciate your feedback.

To be honest it would be best not to read or get opinions about it before your op because I feel it ups the anxiety ! But all aside , it's a very simple procedure and in terms of pain the only point I felt pain that was significant was at the time of anesthesia for a couple of seconds. After the anesthesia , everything numbed out and around 30mins later everything was done. It definitely differs from individual to individual . Post op , sensitivity and tenderness will be there up till around 2-3 weeks. Nighttime erections hurt but that can be avoided with proper precautions . Sensitivity also can be tackled but again it takes time. Most people don't need analgesics actually and the pain is very much bearable but if prescribed by your doc , best to take it. I would not worry and if you are like me , don't read more about it or look for opinions elsewhere . Its going to be all good . Just ensure you have a good skilled doctor and have a good communication with him . Also would be great to discuss the expected results etc with him beforehand. All the best !

Have you exhausted all of the non surgical options?

I’m 3 weeks post-circumcision tomorrow and can honestly say that I had no pain, just discomfort. The local anaesthetic injection was ok, I felt nothing afterwards and took paracetamol for 24Hrs. You can see a number of posts on my profile re bruising, swelling, etc but yet they were not painful. Night time erections were most uncomfortable as they pulled on the stitches. However I went out and about my business every day, I had a holiday in Yorkshire for all of week 2 and went back to the gym yesterday. Do make sure you have a doctor who is skilled and experienced. There’s really nothing to worry about, really.

did u notice a difference in size than before u were circumcised ? and did u feel like ur erections weren’t as hard as before ?

As you will see from the contributions so far, there will be some level of discomfort. It is difficult to avoid that in any surgery and circumcision is no different. Hidden just goes to show that guys can have an experience that is not at all bad. Your next port of call should be to talk to your doctor about your phimosis and plan next steps. I have attached a link to the UK NHS guidance on phimosis. I hope it is of some help. nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/

Take care.

The worst part is the no sex aspect for 4 weeks. Phimosis sucks. I was reduced to using an ear syringe to pump a mix of water and saline into the slit which was getting tighter and over 10 years. I had paraphimosis 10 years ago and that was the last time i saw my glands. I was circumsied 6 weeks ago. Its still raw but its starting to look good. Seriously it looks bigger and erections look pretty good in size. I always thought it was being strangled. I had so many infections over the years and it would drive me nuts. I had no control. I'd get it done. The first night is visually horrifying but the pain was relatively nothing. Get it done.
