Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. Please take what I say with a grain of salt and consult a medical professional before deciding to undergo circumcision.

Hi all, I am in week 4 post-op using the LangHe method. This method is comparable to ZSR in which both methods use staples instead of stitches or glue. The difference is that the ZSR method utilizes a silicone ring under the staples to ease removal while the LangHe method does not. I will show what the results look like, as well as the pros and cons of this method. I have not seen posts regarding the LangHe method, even though it is available in some Asian countries; therefore I want to provide more information.

Pros:

1. Very quick operation (less than 10 minutes excluding waiting for the anesthetic to take effect)

2. The pain during and post the operation was very minimal. Nocturnal and morning erections were uncomfortable (tight) during the first few days but they never caused noticeable pain.

3. Results in minimal scarring and swelling compared to other methods (refer to pic)

4. Relatively clean cut. I believe this method produces satisfactory visual results.

Cons:

1. This method usually leaves the patient with residual staples. The ZSR method utilizes a silicone ring under the staples (resulting in easy removal) while the LangHe method does not. Most patients get the residual staples removed after 3 weeks. The process is relatively quick although the pain may be substantial for some staples if they are deeply embedded. The doctor will check carefully for any residual staples because there is a risk for skin to grow over a staple and obscure it.

2. The results may not be as clean as the glue method

3. May be more expensive than other methods

4. I lost some length in my erections but this appears to be common for other methods as well and should be recovered over time.

The process:

Day 1-3: After the operation the doctor covered my penis with a gauze. There was a very noticeable sting for several hours after the operation but this went away after taking painkillers. Peeing was painless but I had to make sure urine did not enter the gauze. At this point erections were uncomfortable because of the gauze but not particularly painful.

Day 4-7 (Week 1): The bandages were taken off. This was the first time my circumcised penis was exposed and it was very sensitive. I am a grower so the skin bunched up when flaccid. Pulling back the skin would cause pain. I wore loose fitting pants (no underwear) and tried my best to limit movement. Erections were tight and uncomfortable. I had to apply betadine to the scarline 2-3 times a day. I was told to prevent showering so I cleaned myself using washcloths. See the week 1 pic to see how the staples looked during week 1.

Week 2: I stopped taking painkillers. Erections were less tight and relatively painless. I could start taking showers but avoided using soap. Staples started drying out and a few started becoming loose.

Week 3: erections were fine. I masturbated but made sure to only touch the glans and avoid the scarline. Erections were painless. More of the staples started becoming loose, causing pain when they caught on to my briefs. I managed to pull 3 staples out by myself (not advised). At these point the staples were very dry (see pic)

Removal: after the third week I met with my doctor to have the staples removed. The procedure was very quick and relatively pain free except for the staples which were deeply embedded (you could REALLY feel those lol).

Overall, I am satisfied with the results but I do not recommend circumcision unless you are VERY sure it is something you want.

How come it's expensive if it's a quick procedure?

it's more expensive because it's quick and has less complications. quick = more efficient

Strange that it would cost more then. That's some backwards logic. Then how come not most doctors use it? Freehand is slow, which means you can do less patients, which means you lose money. Yours look pretty good already and I don't see many downside to the procedure.

A big factor is also that the method uses a disposable stapler gun, so that probably costs more than using stitches or glue hence the price. What I meant earlier was that since staplers are faster and produce less complications doctors can market it as such to justify a higher price point. It would make sense that customers would pay more for a faster and less painful procedure. Just a theory though.

Most doctors use the ZSR method which like I said results in easier removal of the staples. However, I believe one of the pros of not using a silicone ring is that erections are less painful.

grats.

glad that you're satisfied with the result.
