Pros and cons to different circumcision styles

I am late 40s and had a circumcision 2.5 weeks ago. I wish I had asked what style I was given but it looks like it is low and loose with frenulum attached, but might be low and tight. I am now left wondering what are pros and cons to each style and if the style I was given was the best choice for me. My surgeon did not tell me there were different styles or ask me for my preference.

Same bro I also didn't know there was dif styles til after circ was done. I thought they were all the same. I imagined I'd be getting a hi and tight cut which is what u see everywhere but to my surprise I was given low and tight. Came out ok so far. Still would've preferred high and tight but whats done is done

Me too had it done 20 years ago, in my late 40’s now. Wish I knew now back then would have definitely asked for a different style. I have a low tight cut and this where I wish I was a bit more informed my frenulum was completely cut off there only a little line left on the glans.

Thank you for the replies so far, but what are the advantages and disadvantages to each? For example, Lex599... why would you have preferred high and tight... why? And Numb13, you are also disappointed with that type of cut and also seem disappointed that the frenulum was completely cut off...why? There must be benefits to each style is used, otherwise they would not be using them.

I don’t know, but it seems most adult circs are low for some reason. I just wished my frenulum was spared then there would have been extra nerve endings left for more sensation. Just goes to show educating and knowledge of something can go a long way.

I just would have assumed my urology surgeon would know best and never gave it any thought.

I know where your coming from I don’t have a frenulum either but then again I’ve forgotten what it was like to have foreskin and a frenulum on the plus side it’s much tidier without one and the benefit is we can never tear ours again 😂

The most sensitive part of your cock is UNDER your frenulum so if the Dr cut off your frenulum then you have not lost any feeling from it being removed. A frenulum's is only there to pull your foreskin back so when you were circumcized your frenulum had no more to do so the Dr cut it off. If you are cut at birth (like me) then usually your frenulum is also cut off depending on the style of circumcision.

I wish I could agree with you but mine being an adult circ I do not have a typical round cut. I have a V cut so close to the glans that there isn’t very much inner skin left at all under the glans.

I think a con of tight style may be that thrusting or say hand job, hand tugging on the shaft can be a bit painful when fully erect and not lubricated. If looser, you have more room to work with there. Tight looks better though.

Yes but a man is what he is given especially when he is cut at birth as I was when I was born in Australia.

Mines quite low & tight I’m happy with it , I think if it had been a higher cut then some length may of been sacrificed, as far as the urologist giving advice on “cut styles “ they just seem to cut low as a matter of course because it’s a medical procedure & not a cosmetic one , that’s just my take & my experience.

When I had my circumcision it was partly to do with para phimosis so the phimotic ring had to go so the classic “V” cut was given , left my frenulum intact, he did say “ we want the most desirable outcome for this operation so if you have a preference about anything just ask “ , I asked him where they place the scar line he drew a diagram and that was it , maybe if I’d asked for a higher cut he would of done but I like my cut the way it is , when it’s erect there’s two distinct shades & the “V” cut looks cool 👌

I was told the cut given would be the most appropriate for my own body. As it happens, it is low and loose. With hindsight, I’m glad it was done this way as the scar line is not immediately obvious on the shaft and I have lost none of my length when erect. The only grumble I have is the swelling where the frenulum used to be. Ten months after the operation, it is still a little swollen and tender.
