Stitches not disolving

Its already been 3 weeks today and I only 3 out the 14 stitches have fallen. Went to work on monday but my coworkers saw i could barely walk so they gave me 1 week more of home office. Im afraid that on monday I’ll have to go to work and it will be as annoying as the other day.

My dr said that they should fall off very soon but i’m getting worried since one of the stitches bleeds everyday. I read over here that some of you ended up cutting the stitches yourselves. How did you do it? Did it leave “tunnels” on your skin? Advice much appreciated.

Dont worry . Would suggest you to bath twice a day and soak the stitches in warm water for around 10mins every time. Try soaping the stitches esp at its base . Don't tug at them or pull at them . Don't worry about the tunnels yet . Also you can use a dab of moisturiser to stick the stitch onto the skin if it's poking you . If it hasn't dropped off by another week keep in touch with your doc. Mine dropped off last at the end of the 3 rd week and I didn't develop any stitch tunnels. Cheers ! All the best !

Two weeks later I snipped out the last of the stitches and pulled them out so that tunnels would not form. Much better.

Tunnels are unlikely to form with soluble stitches. They are gradually broken down by enzymes.

This might help.

They are supposed to yes, but they weren't. The doctor told me they'd go in 10 days. They just got hard like wire, hooked and pulled and caused misery. At about day 15 I think, I got rid of them.

Looking at the link you sent, ouch, months - nope, no thanks.

You are talking about the external parts of the sutures which, of course, do not dissolve. Only the internal bits do that. Some guys trim the bits sticking out once the wound has healed.

I'd say 3-1 cm is most common. Less than a cm seems rare.

I have around 5 mm front maybe 8 mm backside. Wanted a medium cut and got this.

That's not my picture. Mine is around what I said. Wish I had more as I'd liked to revise my scarline. Don't know why doctors make it so extremely low. Don't think they really know what they're doing tbh.

I have the bare minimum inner foreskin, probably less than 1 cm. Also it doesnt seem like a simmetrical cut. I didn’t discuss the type of cut with my urologist since i did it in a hurry and he didn’t really suggest any other...

Yes but they are kinda buried and the whole thing is kinda swollen at the moment. Erections dont hurt anymore but they did for the first 8-9 days.

I'm on week 6, and I still have stitches.

My doctor prescribed me a cream for dissolving stitches.

Right now its too early to tell. I have no problem with erections but suffered the same as you a coupke of weeks. To help with it, I abstained from water 2 or more hours before bedtime and also made sure i peed before sleep. Even though i woke up really thirsty, I could avoid the pain for a cople days
