I have phimosis - undiagnosed by GP but have never been able to retract my foreskin at all. I am considering getting circumcised but have a few general questions:
1. Cost? I have seen prices ranging from £650 to £2000! I live near Birmingham.
2. Lube? Will I always need to use lube for sex and masturbation afterwards?
3. How long after the op before I can have sex or masturbate?
4. What is the best method to look at and are there any questions I should as the surgeon or things to look out for?
5. Can anyone recommend any clinics within say 100 miles of Birmingham?

Why don't you take a look topics like last 2 months and you will find most of the answers right away. I'm sorry, but you are too lazy to me. There is also 'Search' option on upper right corner. If you are on a computer there are related posts on middle right.
Haven’t found anything about what’s a reasonable price to pay.
Found lots about lube but all related to sex/masturbation not long after the op. I’m wondering if this is a forever thing?
Not much in the way of things to look out for or to ask the surgeon. Or any clinic recommendations.
Hi scouser79 if you have phimosis go see doc he will send you to urogalist at nhs hospital and it will cost you nothing you will more than likely use lube for both but it's not expensive all been well 6 weeks recovery to masterbate / sex but that depends on how you heal method you would after discuss that with him hope this helps
So you’ve never been able to retract but now having it cured is urgent?
Regarding your question 4, you won’t get much choice. The tight part would need to be removed which constrains where the cut line would be. Expect this to be low, due to the way the surgeon would have to perform the operation with a non-retractable foreskin.
My son was seen by the GP and he thought it would be months before the urology referral come through. He was actually seen the following week by the urologist and he said he has no waiting list believe it or not. This is in Nottingham.
If you have never been able to retract your foreskin why are you now in such a rush to have that put right? Just trying to understand.
It’s never really bothered me until the last few years for some reason. It’s getting tighter, there can be a slight discomfort during sex now which wasn’t there before. Now I’ve looked into it I also realise I could be missing out on feeling/sensations during sex too.
Plus I’m very impulsive. Once I decide to do something I usually just go do it right away.
I had mine done on the NHS. It took about 2 months to heal completely. I do need lube for masturbation and sex after getting cut as it’s pretty uncomfortable without it as I don’t have much skin remaining. That’s not the case for all circumcised males though.
Hi there. I was circumcised as a baby. My skin is very tight but I hardly ever use lube. But you may find you prefer to, especially soon after surgery.
