Post-Circumcision Questions

Hi all, just over 5 weeks ago i got circumcised. I will most likely consult my surgeon at some point for further confirmation but thats currently not possible. Anyway, to the questions;

It seems to be healing quite well, but im certainly what youd call a grower, meaning flaccid it is quite considerably smaller. Im not sure if it has any relation, however when erect i currently experience mildly painful restriction around the scarring. It seems to be healing quite nicely, ive had next to no pain during recovery, very little swelling and its all looking quite good but it is somewhat painful when erect, he didnt take too much off, im not concerned about that, but if i maintain the erection for a few minutes it seems like it does stretch slightly and the pain subsides a little.

Of course im yet to have sex again, but id like to as soon as im comfortable its healed to a point where its useable, so i suppose im here looking for piece of mind on account of my rather concerned one!

My other question seems a little dumb so forgive me if it is, it wasnt covered in the op briefing and i cant seem to find much on it online. When flaccid, as mentioned, its quite a lot smaller and tends to fold back on itself again, almost like it isnt circumcised at all, enclosing the glans again. Of course its connected now, so whenever i retract it again or become erect, it resumes its circumcised appearance, but i was just wondering if i should have it checked, as im aware that there is a slight risk of phimosis returning in some cases and id certainly like to avoid that

Thanks in advance for any responses.

You should not have phimosis anymore given you’ve been circumcised. It sounds like the doctor left enough skin to allow for your penis to grow during erections. If you were to have swelling at the scarline from a future injury or something like that, it could swell up and since you have skin surrounding your glans when you are flaccid, it could look like phimosis- kind of. I don’t think that scenario would technically be phimosis. It’s not something I think would randomly happen without a cause.

I think you're right. If it was a struggle to pull it back then id consider it a problem but i have no trouble so i believe its fine. Afterall, when flaccid it is somewhat protected, so thats nice.

Hey mine is the same exact way, the head is halfway covered when flaccid but the it grows quite well and looks great. I wouldn’t worry about it to much.

As for the pain in my experience it will go away it takes time though. Mine looked great and healed great in about 6 weeks but everytime I got erect I felt some pressure and a little pain specially on one side. It got better over the months and I am now 8 months post op and it’s back to normal, no pain or pressure

Are you able to share a photograph of the difference flaccid v erect? I am due to be circumcised next weekend, and like you I am a grower not a shower, so this is one of my concerns. Really worried there won’t be enough skin, because size difference is significant...

Tightness around the scar area is normal during recovery. Will take some weeks for that to improve. It's quite annoying/worrisome but it will improve over time. I used vitamin e cream on the area for about several weeks and that helped the process.
