Circumcision Questions

Hey guys, Im looking to get circumcized in a few months and I had a few questions about your experience and procedures to help with recovery/scarring. Im going to ask quite a few so feel free to answer one, or all! Any bit of your time is greatly appreciated.

Lets get started!

1. What procedure would you recommend? Which procedure did you undergo? (Ex, mogen clamp, shang ring, etc) how was pain and recovery?

2. My largest concern is the scar line, do you guys have any tips for minimizing scars and/or what did your doctor say? I am worried about the 'zipper' look, and having to go back in for a scar line procedure. Did you have a 2nd circumcision done to help with the scarring?

3. When did you get circumsized and why? How has it affected your life so far? Were you already in a relationship when you had the procedure done?

I find it hard to find sources online that may help me make my decision.

Feel free to answer ar your leisure. I appreciate the time greatly. Cheers!

I had my first circumcision in 2014 which left me a painful and zipped scar. I had it redone 3 weeks ago and it seems that the scar line looks better now. But now I have got some invisible lumbs under my shaft skin and I m very worried. I hope they will go away in a few days.

From what Ive researched the lumps are normally gone fully ater 6 months. What technique did they use the first time?

Partial circumcision free hand both times! I don't know of now I will have pain when I will try to have sex intercourse. If I will then the whole procedure is worthless

What is a partial circ, a “tip snip”??

Have you searched the forum for information? Most of your questions will have been answered. There are also a lot of pics so no need for more.

Im going through most of it. Since you moderate everything, would you know about the benefits/downfalls of the mogen clamp vs shange ring?

in reply toAgreene24

I moderate the forum on a voluntary basis but am not the fount of all knowledge. Both of those have been discussed before.

Ok... if you know that the information to answer my questions is on this forum 'already' would you mind linking those posts? Instead of telling me to search through hundreds of posts..

in reply toAgreene24

As I said, I am the moderator and not the librarian. I am attending a clinical research meeting in London today so you will have to do your own searching.

Lol, Ironic.

My understanding is that Mogen clamp circumcisions are distinguishable by a darker tone ring at the scar line. Since you’re worried about scarring this probably rules it out for you?

Interesting, I couldnt find any information on it. I was leaning towards the mogen clamp because it was 'risk free' of gland amputation. I appreciate the response.

The clinic in my city only offers shang or mogen clamp techniques. I may consider travelling for the procedure. Does the shang ring have the same 'history' of a darker scar line?

in reply toAgreene24

Hmm, I'm wondering what the culture or locality is where you're living and that the risk of glans amputation is a risk. Sounds scary.

To answer your question I don't know what the cosmetic outcome is like when a Shang Ring is used. Anyway to save you searching through hundreds of websites, here's a useful summary karger.com/Article/FullText...

Im in the same boat as you. Been tossing up between either freehand, mogen clamp, and shang ring circs. I ideally want to be done with a smart klamp but nobody offers that in my country. Im pretty set on the mogen clamp with skin glue as i like the cosmetic outcome and the ammount of inner skin you are left with and recovery seem a bit better with this type of cut. Im looking to be cut in the next 8 weeks or so for cosmetic reasons

Deadly man, I was thinking mogen + skin glue as well. We're well in the same boat, ill private message you an update when it goes down!

Get laser circ and inner sutures. Also there is a glue and even there is a seal laser without sutures.
