hi, i recently had my circumcision done, i’m on day 6 post. healing is going well the slight pain if i get an erection other than that everything is good.
how long will it take for keratinization to take place? my glans are still very sensitive and very uncomfortable when i try to put boxers on.

Every man is different in the time it takes to de-sensitise the glans.
Forget keratinisation, your nerves will settle down gradually and become accustomed over the first few weeks. You’re better off wearing soft material briefs that minimise movement than loose boxers.
alright thanks for the advice, i haven’t worn anything down there since i’ve been naked from circumcision just very scared to put boxers on due to the uncomfort that i get
I guess it’s like an electric shock every time something touches it at the moment so don’t blame you staying naked. It’s difficult but you have to drive through it, the more contact it gets, the sooner you get past it. Time heals, stay with it and good luck
Haha. No, it’s just bath salts with no healing properties. Might make your skin feel soft though LOL. You’re supposed to use ordinary/table salt if it’s to dry out the wound quicker (research both online)
To be clear, when you say ‘longer than normal’ I’m assuming you mean after circumcision? In which case, many guys on here report that hypersensitivity typically takes two to three weeks to calm down and become comfortable without distraction. Some say less and for a few others sadly the weeks become months. It likely varies by individual depending on how much exposure (if any) the glans has had previously, pain thresholds/tolerance and how much contact and handling it gets post-op as previously said.
unfortunately i had phimosis when had foreskin so was unable to retract. i’m guessing this will take longer to get used to compared to guys who didn’t have phimosis
Sure you'll have more sensitivity to lose than most but the only real answer is to toughen it up. As madmooove says, a layer of vaseline til you can bear it will help. Alternatively if you can run to it, a condom!
Think it adapts once you expose it to contact. I put on boxers with no protection after 7 days (before this was using kitchen towel and Vaseline to hold it upright). First took a salt bath, then I applied a bit of Vaseline to the sensitive areas and put on my boxers on (tight or loose boxers depending on what works for you) and by the next day I was getting used to it
Im at day 15 now, i had phimosis too, im now able to wear tight fitting underwear with no vaso or anything but not loose stuff yet, i imagine once all the stitches have come out it wont be so bad. But we are still in early stages, give it time.
