It has been one week after my circumcision and I have had a good experience so far! I haven't experienced any pain and haven't had to take a single painkiller! My surgeon did a great job and the cut looks really good and symmetrical! My swelling has already died down a ton - only a little but remains at the underside of my penis. The only problems I have experienced are: the natural hypersensitivity of the glans rubbing against clothes - but even that is bearable after a week - and the night erections which did cause a stitch or two to pull a but too much and bleed a little. The reason for my circumcision was that I have a very rare skin condition called Lichen Sclerosus which causes tightening and thinning of the skin, along with extremely sensitive, uncomfortable rashes. I tried everything I could for around 9 months but to no avail - sex was painful and I would tear my foreskin and bleed every time I had sex. I would occasionally even tear my foreskin while washing my penis while showering. I am of the view that circumcision should only ever happen if it's the only solution to solve an issue. I had no other choice - but I am happy with the choice and I have no regrets. I honestly thought that recovery would be a lot worse and on this forum are naturally mainly stories of bad experiences - which isn't a problem at all - but I just wanted to share a good experience! I have included some images of my penis for reference of where I'm at after 1 week! I'm sure that my experience will only get better as time goes by!
My advice would be to just rest up and take things easily for the first few days! I soaked off my bandages off in the bath after 3 days, dripping some soapy water over my glans and then re-dressed my penis. Whilst sleeping, I found it best to wear tight fitting underwear and positioned my penis upright to avoid night erections. Everyone is different though and some prefer sleeping on their side - this induced erections for me, however. I put an ointment my doctor gave me on my stiches at least once a day when re-dressing my bandages, along with some Aquaphor (similar to Vaseline) and it's been helping. I believe that I will still not have to take any painkillers! I'm seeing my doctor for a checkup tomorrow!
Keep in mind that I had just put on ointment before taking the picture!
I hope this helps anyone who is feeling nervous about an upcoming circumcision! I hope that anyone having the surgery soon also has a good experience! I also encourage anyone who had had a good experience to share their positive stories!

Thanks man! I definitely will enjoy! (That's definitely the plan! I don't want to mess up a good experience and good progress!) Doc says I can have sex again after 4 weeks, but I think I'll wait 6
I'm not sure how it was done but I think it was freehand! My Dr is Dr Peter Harden here in Johannesburg, South Africa! My cut is low and loose, that is correct! I didn't choose my cut - I enquired but my doc said he only does 1 type but I was okay with that! I ideally wanted a high and loose cut, but I'm happy with mine nonetheless! If I was to give advice - apparently a high cut is better because they preserve more of your inner foreskin which is sensitive and this can be more pleasurable during sex! Also - make sure the doc keeps your frenulum in tact if possible! Yes, the doc wraps it up with gauze and then after 2 to 3 days, soak it off in a warm sitz bath, then pat it dry carefully and let it sir dry for the rest! Then you can put on some vaseline and or a antibacterial ointment and wrap it back up again!
It's all about personal preference! If you don't like the 2-tone that much and think a low cut looks better, then go for that! But to be honest, at the end of the day you'll get used to whatever you get! One of humans' main reason for survival is our ability to adapt! I'll be back in around 4-5weeks when I have sex for the first time after! The frenulum is one of - if not the most sensitive part of the penis, thus it's better to keep, naturally! Only if the frenulum is too tight will there be a possibility if it tearing! Once again- all personal choice! My doc curs according to his patient's anatomy, and mine was good to stay!
It definitely is more noticeable! And if you don't like that, then get a low cut! Definitely consult with your doctor and see what he thinks is best! If I had the choice, I wouldn't have had to lose my foreskin either but I had to so! In my opinion, I'd leave the frenulum but also see what your doc says!
Hi Man, you have a very good result it looks a low and possibly tight ish cut very similar to my own. You had LS which is not a very nice condition to have you where correct to have the circumcision done when you tried all the different options usually the steroid creams do not really work that well it may slow the progress but will not cure the condition. You have a great result and when everything is healed you will be very happy it is surprising how little pain and discomfort there is when everything goes well and there are no complications. did you have stitches or was it glue to close the wound?
Yeah, it seems to be low and a little loose to be loose-ish to be honest! That's all I'm hoping for - to allow down the progress... It seems as though there's no cure for the condition though, which sucks. I'm currently experiencing painful blisters but I'm sure they'll pass! Do you have any advice for how to go about it? The issue is the blisters get really bad when they rub up against my underwear and get unbearably painful. I'm really excited for everything to be healed in a few weeks! I got stitches! A lot of little white ones
I found it easier to wrap my glans up while I was wearing clothes it just makes things more comfortable until the glans got accustomed to being exposed. I also used salted water in a bowl after I had a shower it helps with infections. You can really see any stitches in your photo they will probably start dissolving soon.
Yeah, that's what I've been doing too! It helps a ton! Especially when driving - it's a life saver! And yeah, using some salt is always a good idea! I also have an antibacterial ointment which helps! And yeah, I'm hoping for my stitches to dissolve by the end of week 2!
I have a sort of LS also. Had two outbreaks last year & none so far. I feel your pain & getting surgery in March. Hope all goes well & you are cured fast!
Ah man, I'm sorry to hear! It's honestly terrible! Sorry to hear about the outbreaks! I hope the surgery goes well and helps your LS! Thank you, same to you!
Only a pleasure! That's the goal! I have always been very anti-circumcision, funnily enough - however - I had no other choice! But after going through the procedure, I am not dissatisfied at all! Looking forward to my full recovery!
I would still choose to have my foreskin if I had the choice - and had a properly functioning foreskin - however, I didn't and being circumcised is not as bad as I thought it would be - at least from my experience so far! For me it was definitely the right decision! I'd never be an advocate for circumcision if the person doesn't need it though!
A lot of uncircumcised men who wish they were circumcised like to think being uncircumcised is better. I found out it's not, and only wish I had done it a lot sooner. All those wasted years being uncircumcised to now regret.
Its It's definitely personal preference! I think if you have a properly functioning foreskin it's definitely better! But in the case that you need a circ, there's nothing wrong!
I would agree, I think your surgeon did an excellent job of removing your foreskin. Healed nicely for one week. No stitches? Glue? Nicely exposed sulcus.
Yup, low and loose! I have made changes but they're not drastic at all! I either just stroke the shaft or I use lube and stroke the full penis! Basically the same but with lube instead of a foreskin!
But if you had a loose circumcision, can you not use the loosensess of the skin to roll it around the corona of the glands? Does the foreskin cover the glands at least partially when flaccid?
It was my surgeon's choice - said he only did 1 type if circ and I was desperate to get the op done so I just went with him! Happy with the result though! I wanted a high and loose cut but I'm still very happy!
