Does icing actually help the swelling go down. Wouldn’t this slow the process of recovering. Doctor after the OP just said to wash it with antibacterial soap and water... Im a 21 y/o just in case age matters for recov.

Wear snug fitting briefs and keep the penis upright as much as possible.
Gravity helps reduce the swelling much faster.
Ice won't hurt, just don't do it directly on your skin.
No, if you research it you'll find that ice application is only of benefit on sprains and bruises (apart from the first 48 hours as per Osidge's link)
