Update on lychen sclerosis and balanitis

Hi all, continuing with my updates and hope it helps some others out there with similar condition. So I went to see Professor Bunker at UCLH specialist dermatologist in penile skin conditions. Been struggling with LS and Balanitis for years and been circumsized early Feb this year and had meatotomy in June afterwards. Symptoms not much better unfortunately so Prof Bunker advised to best manage use Epaderm after each weeing and use the cream as often as possible during the day. This is an over counter moisturiser. He said very key to clean the penis with water, dry after each wee and apply the cream afterwards. Take the cream with me to work and anywhere I go if possible of course. Also use this in shower apply the cream when penis dry then water off. I also got a steroid cream again. I have peeling on glans and redness. This in no way applies to everyone with similar conditions please see your dermatologist/specialist. I also got a urologist appointment regards to a urethroplasty surgery as opening closing up and flow of weeing weekens. The creams seems to work for now but this seems more like manage it better then cure. Only seen the dermatologist 4 days ago . I have used in past coconut oil which did help but I think after weeing moisturize the clean penis important. I also used Zeroderm ointment in past and he said stop using this completely. Use Epaderm instead. May be my condition more advanced compare to many here. Thats why i have to use Epaderm. Hope it helps and if you have conditions check with your specialist before you put anything on there.

Hi and thanks for your info. I think I have balanitis? But I've been circumcised since birth. It started about a year and a half ago and has progressively gotten worse. Clotrimazole keeps it at bay. But if I miss a day of application it comes right back. It's not painful but it is hard to look at for sure with my skin flaking all the time. Any input you have would be appreciated.

Yes first instance go and see a specialist dermatologist. Do you have a picture? Wash after weeing with water dry and moisturize as often as much as possible. I used coconut oil but not much help. However it helped others, now i use Epaderm but that was prescribed by a specialist so check with them first before you use anything. No soap at all.
