Balinitis/phimosis

I've been plagued with this, probably half a dozen times in the last two years. I'm into my 60's and have been to my GP who gave me an anti-fungal +HC (daktocort). I also had blood tests, suspecting diabetes but nothing was resolved, in fact they didn't even contact me back. I've had a fresh outbreak which is now over two weeks old. This time it's continued to be itchy for longer and the end is not in sight yet. I work on sites and need to sit down to pee when it's acute. It's getting on my nerves and is unhygienic. Every time I have to see the GP or return for a 5 minute blood test I have to take time off and use up my holidays; I now have none left and my problem is not resolved. I am thinking the only way to end this is to either walk into an STI clinic or to attend an A&E dept., since I'm only home at weekends.

I had balanitis and had a full circumcision(66) and have not had balanitis or any infection since so good luck

Quit using soap to clean foreskin and glans. Apply Clotrimazole (Athlete’s Foot cream) for two weeks. Thereafter apply coconut oil after showering. Change underwear frequently.

I had a similar problem. Periodic issues since late teens that became progressively worse as I got older. I was circumcised about a year ago (in my early 50s). I have absolutely no regrets and personally have experienced no loss in sexual pleasure.
