Circumcision due to my Phimosis

Hi, I've posted my story on here previously. So I've suffered phimosis all my life, I had my Urologist referral last week and as expected I require a circumcision due to my foreskin developing scar tissue, my procedure is going to be in 3 months time, I had never suffered with any infections or issues, but recently I seem to be getting a little milky white discharge from under my foreskin and occasionally, like a hard yellowish flake from there as well. I'm thinking this is just a build up of smega due to not being able to fully clean my glans, I bath/shower daily and clean down there as best as I can. Can anyone offer any advice on what this is or if you have suffered from this.

You may be right in your assessment and, if that’s the case, then the circumcision should solve the issue. If it gets worse or starts to have a bad smell then speak to your doctor in case you are developing an infection.

I've been monitoring it, there's no foul smell at all. Obviously with my phimosis, I think traces of urine can also get in behind the foreskin which won't help matters. Thank you for your reply

I would think it’s what you say it is - nothing to worry about really but unpleasant when it happens and potentially embarrassing where sex is involved.

I used to get this occasionally before having my circumcision six months ago, in my 40s. In fact, when I had the op I told the surgeon I was embarrassed that she might find lots of smegma underneath - she reassured me it was normal for there to be some and there’s nothing I could do about it (before saying mid-procedure there was actually very little there).

I know the thought of the op may be daunting but it’ll certainly stop this happening and it was one of the reasons I chose to have a circumcision. Personally, now I’m fully healed, I’m delighted I had it done.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply, in 6 months time I'll have had the procedure, had 3 months recovery and probably thinking why did I not get it done years ago.

If you have had phimosis for so long, you may have developed Lichen sclerosus (BXO) in hiding. It's an autoimmune reaction against the skin of the foreskin and glans. For complete resolution, a full circumcision "tight" is necessary. Tight circumcision is best for sex. 👍

Talk to your doctors and ask for a radical tight circumcision. After a loose circumcision, the problems continue.

Thank you very much for your reply, I just want the circumcision done, but I have a 3 month wait

Why are you waiting?

Find a private surgeon and get a circumcision. I recommend a circumcision with maximum skin reduction. That's how I do it myself. Only then you'll be completely free of trouble.

A friend of mine got a loose circumcision and has permanent problems.

I'm having to wait as it's being done on the NHS. All they have told me is that I'll have a full circumcision

NHS circumcision is like the lottery. Maybe it cuts the skin enough, maybe it leaves more skin. Depends on the doctor. If there's a fold on your penis in a non-erect state, moisture will remain. 😢Where the moisture stays, the LS stays 😱. You have a very high probability of Lichen sclerosus under your foreskin.

I wouldn't risk the NHS. I travelled to a circumcision specialist with a confirmed reputation. I paid 600 euros. I have no health problems, I have a good sex life.👍

I also have some adhesions to the glans which need to be sorted, I'm just concerned of how my glans will look once the procedure is done.

Hey I had very bad adhesions all round one side of my glans. After being cut during the circumcision, there are no marks visible on the glans. Very neat job he made. It's something to discuss with your consultant before the procedure

Thank you for your reply, I'm wanting the procedure done ASAP, then I can start with my recovery and hopefully enjoy the new look

3 month wait is not too bad I was told up to 2 years so went private. I think once the decision has been made, you just want to get in with it

It's not a problem. It occurs frequently. It just takes longer to heal.
