Hi, my periods stopped 15 years ago but due to on going mental health issues and being diagnosed with Thyroid problems,it's only recently that my bloods are near optimal, feel much better. but still have issues with libido and sore/dryness. My GP gave me vagifem but not sure whether to find a menopause clinic and go from there. I live in North Wales. Any recommendations in that area would be most welcome. Please private message me any recommendations . Tia.x

Which menopause clinic?

As I understand it, they don' t like to prescribe HRT which starts more than 10 years after menopause as it is less safe.
That being said, the low dosage topical treatments should still be ok and I guess that is why the g.p. offered vagifem. Another option is a cream like ovestin and they can offer both vagifem and ovestin together.
So you could ask if they can offer anything else, via the menopause clinic or the g.p. route if vagifem alone is not helping.
Sorry can't answer the North Wales part but no doubt somebody will be along soon.

🤔 If you’re prescribed Thyroid medication, you may benefit from discussing Vagifem on a different Healthunlocked Forum…it’s possible it may need readjusting.

Hi, I'm on my second week of vagifem and so far so good, except I'm having trouble sleeping. Hopefully it's because my body needs to get used to it.
