Not sleeping please help ?

Peanutbutterplease profile image

I am early 40s and noticed my sleeping has got worse and worse . I like to try and have 8hrs a night but I never do these days . My sleep is very broken constantly waking up through night or suddenly at 6am I am wide awake for the day when I only just nodded off at 4am ! I also wake up stiff as a board ache from head to toe and feels like I've slept on a park bench . I've done the usual pillow sprays new pillows etc but this lack of sleeping is tiring my body i feel more so than my actual self throughout the day . I feel like I just ache .Anyone else?

🤔It’s possible….when someone has a lot on their mind, anxiety could be the cause of broken sleep..it can be a vicious circle trying to get back into a regular sleep pattern.

It could be more productive to discuss this with your GP.

Yep, I was like this, barely getting 5 or 6 hours sleep and always interrupted. I'm also in my early 40's and have Hashimoto's. My body still aches but not quite as badly and I'm currently managing about 6 hours uninterrupted sleep Monday to Friday but manage about 7 or 8 at the weekend.

I think my small improvements are partially from getting my Levothyroxine dose higher and HRT (the progesterone part definitely seems to help my sleep)

I also supplement with magnesium malate/glycinate as this is supposed to aid sleep and other things.

Do you take any medication? Try mentioning your symptoms at the doctors and see if they recommend anything?

Hope you manage to find something that helps you. xxx

Geeks 3 in 1 magnesium. I take 2 an hour before bed and now sleep soooo well. Worth a try..

HiI'm like yourself but been under stress too.

Sometimes Magnesium helps, started htp5 and GABA. Seems to be helping a bit, sleeping a few hours. My doctor gave me Temazepam 10mg but that's my last resort.

I'm reluctant to go onto HRT.

Here's hoping be both get something to help sleep.

Getting out into the day light/sun light in the morning should help ☀️

Yes all the time! Have you been checked out by a doctor? What kind of pillow sprays have you been using if you don't mind me asking? 😃
