I agree with the person who said be careful when cutting the patches, it alters the dose. They are delayed release. You might ask for a different form of estrogen. I've tried many forms and finding the one that works for you is essential. Natural estrogen is the best, but most expensive way to go. Big pharma doesn't make money off of it. Find a doctor (if you're able to) that understands how hormones affect your health and well being. My doctor goes on how I'm feeling, rather than the industry standard. We are not all carbon copies of each other. The reason they are trying to keep the dose down is a study that said estrogen increases your risk of cancer. There have been studies that debunk that information, but insurance companies and doctors are persisting in this same vein. You can look up information on the internet for yourself. I'm my own best advocate. I need a higher than recommended dosage of estrogen myself. But I feel really good at this level.
I started on 1 patch Evorel conti. When I asked for more oestrogen I was given a supplement oestrogen only patch. GP then calls me and says the advice now is to keep P and O in proportion so to cut one in half diagonally and use 1.5. As I felt no difference it then went up to TWO whole patches.
Sleep and tiredness is my main symptom.
I am now taking a break (I felt my weight had gone sky high and not 100% related to bad lifestyle choices).
