Fear about upcoming surgery

Good Evening all hope you are well

I am having a total hysterectomy on Tuesday 12th March

Suffer from endometriosis and I had fluid in my cervix that the consultant hadn't seen before. Did a hysteroscopy DNC and took a bit of my cervix away

More fluid further up inside me the could not get to

Sent the fluid he took out to pathology that was ok but he wanted to have the other checked too

2 options first MRI in 3 months to see if the original fluid had come back

Second total hysterectomy then fluid cannot come back plus he could send the remaining fluid to pathology

I opted for the total hysterectomy as in 3 months I could be requiring surgery

I am worried about this operation and wondering if I have made the wrong decision and should I cancel

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just don't know what is best to do

Many thanks

Janet

Hi, I also went through multiple surgeries for endometriosis and then finally had a total hysterectomy in April 22 and it was the best decision I ever made. I was 35 at the time and it is a big operation so be prepared but I just rested lots and didn’t rush to do anything I waited around 6 weeks before trying little walks prior to that I just walked in the garden and whilst it’s a tough surgery you do recover and for me anyway I’m so glad I had it but everyone is different so do what’s right for you. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Do discuss HRT because I needed that straight away because it was a big shock to my system but managed to get them balanced within a few months. I previously had Pmdd but the hysterectomy and hrt have also saved me from that as well so for me it was a good decision. Take care xx
