Nerve pain and insomnia post hysterectomy

Hi,

I am only 3 weeks post vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgery removing everything including cervix. All went well however I’ve been suffering with insomnia and awful what I can only describe as nerve pain….it feels like my skin is crawling and it’s constantly burning and prickling all over constantly I can’t even rest as it’s driving me mad I feel like my teeth are on edge. Also in the night my feet start to throb with evil pins and needles they turn bright red and that goes half way up my calves. This is happening every night however the nerve pain is all over and constantly throughout the day and night.

I’m currently using Lenzetto oestrogen spray 2 or 3 sprays a day.

Any advice would be helpful as I’m losing my mind with no sleep but the nerve pain is taking me over 😭.

Thank you xx

I’m only taking 1 paracetamol every 6 hours or when needed so really only 2 paracetamol a day…….paracetamol wouldn’t cause this I’ve taken paracetamol many times for previous surgeries

Thank you for trying as it’s driving me mad but pain meds don’t help this unfortunately 😭

I actually meant that pain meds might be the cause of the symptoms.

Yes I did get that you meant that and I totally understand pain meds do cause their own problems but I can’t take them anyway after having serotonin poisoning from doctors it means I’m stuck with just paracetamol. I’m hoping it’s the hormones and they need to settle as it’s all getting a bit too much now and making my recovery 100x harder but thank you for trying to help 😊 take care xx
