I have been experiencing severe constipation since perimenopause started. Ended up having hemorrhoid surgery but then constipation caused a fissure. I am desperately trying everything to make my bowels work without laxatives. Please I’m desperate for suggestions

🙂 I’m post menopause ..but I cope with constipation and haemorrhoids.
I also have urinary frequency..which is worsened by constipation.
I’ve been prescribed Laxido to help soften bowel movement ..it really has helped. I take one sachet in 250ml water before bed..and it reduces straining without being a laxative.
adding some fermented foods to every day diet may help. Live yoghurts, apple cider vinegar, sauerkraut etc etc. I preloaded my system with a teaspoon of sauerkraut with every meal for a week or two.
I've found almonds help, but i remember reading somewhere that stewed rhubarb and ginger is good too. I also find tinned peas help. Hope you're feeling better soon sending hugs x
