Starting oestrogen patches and progesterone

Hi all, grateful for any pointers pls

I’m on day one of HRT - oestrogen patches and will take progesterone half way through my cycle. Is it ok do you think to start patches on day 22 of my cycle? The pharmacist said it was fine to start with patches and leave the progesterone til my first full cycle on HRT. But as I’m still having periods I wondered if starting the oestrogen now could stop or delay my period and could be in for a mega period at the end of my first full cycle on HRT.

Your pharmacist is much more qualified than me to answer this. It's my understanding that the progesterone is given to stop your womb lining building up and is the bit that will affect your bleeding. Which is probably why the pharmacist gave you that advice.
