it’s a true story on sale at Amazon that was incredible! Marie Johnson says her depression is so great she advocates for medically assisted suicide. I support that now but think we need to continue to struggle for relief until age 65. If we still suffer then help us euthanize ourselves!

Hi Roxy. There's a fight over this in the Canadian legislature now. The key concern is that of govt permission of MAID for depression in cases where depression is greatly exacerbated by problems that the govt is arguably to blame for, e.g. poverty, lack of job opportunities, lack of support for disabilities (medical & mental), etc. Stated in the starkest sense - there is concern that MAID for depression would become a defacto "solution" to poverty - bc it is cheaper - and that political will to solve problems like poverty will vanish completely.

So, I imagine that they are working out strict criteria to address these concerns.

Personally, however, I too wish it was available for myself.

Interesting! My issues have nothing to do with government legislation. Sometimes with all the self reflection I don’t have any idea why I’m depressed.
