Are you feeling election anxiety? Politics, especially during the election cycle, generates a lot of worry and concern. It’s hard for even the most politically uninvolved to not pay attention this time of year.

Dr. Sam Kramer's blog gives advice on how to balance mental health and politics by setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness and setting aside time to reflect. You can read Dr. Kramer's tips in the full blog here: adaa.org/balancing-politics...

I am fairly new to HealthUnlocked and I tried to post in the other anxiety depression group but it says no political content. So I had to self censor myself and did not understand how we cannot talk about something that is so devastating to many of us in the United States and I do not really want to live in a country that would elect a racist, homophobic, misogynist, transphobic, xenophobic to the highest position in the United States. But saying that would be political content but than I saw your post about the election so I am confused about what I am allowed to say and what I am not. I want to respect the rules of the forum so maybe you can clarify them for me. Thank you in advance.

The guidelines appear to be the same. Each site is run by different admin team. So I'm not really sure what the answer to your question is. I know you aren't asking me but I would like to better understand the guidelines myself

Quantumconscious Thank you so much for making this comment. The guidelines do state that there should be no posts about politics, this is to avoid political debates and potentially hateful comments towards others, when this should be a group about support and community. This ADAA professional blog is a resource for those potentially dealing with election anxiety, without involving a stance on a particular political party or opinion. If you are experiencing mental health distress due to the recent elections, ADAA.org has evidence-based resources, such as professional blogs, and a Find Your Therapist page to find a therapist near you. If you need any other information or resources, please feel free to message me. I hope this helps!
